Just a FYI, don't go to Xcceleration motorsports in Pennsylvania (I'm not sure exactly where they're located) cause of what they did to me this past weekend at Focus Rising/Carlisle Ford Nationals. I brought my car up to do the dyno (2 pulls for $60 w/ AFR). The guy tells me that since he's having to waste his time dynoing a focus that it's going to be $80 and I had to let the 2 mustangs in line behind me go before me!!! I told him he F himself with a plunger and hope he slips and impales himself. No love for foci!
wow, really?? thats terrible. anyone else at carlisle have that issue?

that really sucks.

so you MUST get a wideband for a tune? is that another 250 bucks?

Well, it's not a MUST.. Tom said he'll put the tune on the safe side for WOT until I do get the A/F gauge. Either way it's probably one of the more important gauges to have with all our mods. But yeah, around another 250. I'll have until my next paycheque for that one.. lol

Well technically you could just to a dyno run and have them meter the exhaust and send Tom your A/F and he could adjust it too.. There's other ways around having the gauge. But it's a nice gauge to have if any!

Well I don't have an AF guage, can't afford an AF guage, had Tom tune my '03 SVTF w/o an AF guage and it ran perfectly with the Diablo Predator from him, and no reason to believe that a tune from Tom would not work on my '09 ses coupe w/o an AF guage. I would say that for FI you NEED one, but for NA I don't believe that it is a must have. Tom you can chime in with your thoughts. Thanks.

Well he told me it's probably going to be rich at WOT if I don't have an A/F reading for him. I have a HFC on my exhaust and he said it should not clog up as some stock cats potentially could get clogged from running rich.

I have a question, when my car is hitting 4-5K RPM but my pedal isn't to the floor.. Is this still considered WOT due to the high RPM's? Or is it only when you stomp down completely on it that it is WOT?

WOT is generally defined as the point control switches from closed loop to open loop which is typically based on throttle position. You do not have to be to the floor to be considered wide open throttle.

wow, so i would never need that then...cuz i NEVER go that high!

So Brad, how is the car after having the tune for a bit?

Lov'n it!! I was just out running it after loading another "fine-tune" and this thing is kicking ass! To damn close to a ticket though. I had got back to the speed limit of 30mph after a quick WOT in second and no more than 200 yards in front of me was a local cop hiding on the side of the road.

Nice side effect, the tune has deepened the tone of my exhaust. The whole car just sounds and feels more powerful. It did OK before but it didn't pick up the front end and shove me back in my seat like it does now.

Oops, I knew I never should have let Tom and Cindy chat. Yes sir! No more WOT before I get my AF logged.

Wot

STOP! Doing WOT till you get me those AF readings. Dont make me call Cindy

Tom

Oh I'm here and will make sure he doesn't Tom. No worries, right Brad? [chair]

brad, what do you consider wot? r u talking foot to the floor?

Yep, that's that only time I know of that the throttle plate is open all the way. [woot] Although that may not be "technically" correct, it works for me.
