Have you gotten the chance of testing on an 08 yet? I was told by Blivit that there were still some limitations for the 08+. Have any idea what these might be?

 

The limitations are with datalogging. The on device does not always work (using a laptop in the vehicle does work though) and there are some issues with configuration files when datalogging using livelink.

do all the tunes for the various years have the same affect, let's say a tune gives you 5hp will it give that no matter what year focus you have or does it vary by year (assuming the engine is a 2.0 duratec)
What should someone expect with a tune on an 08?

hey tetra, did you have to modify the o2 sensor when you added your header? or did you just say screw it to the CEL?

 

I did use the mechanical fix. You don't modify the sensor itself, all you do is add non-foulers to space the sensor away from the heat so it does not throw the CEL.

I wouldn't be able to stand driving with the CEL, because what if it's actually another problem?

Well I'm in Canada, it's a bit different here.
You don't have to get tested if your vehicle is over a certain year.

 

Blivit my ECU code is: YR2Z

 

That should be YRZ2 (ford 96+ are always 3 letters followed by a number in the US) and yes that code is supported.

 

sorry about the threadjack but a 2.5 header should bolt up the same to a 2.25 exhaust right? I know i could find this somewhere but figured this would get a quick reply.

 

When I talked to Trubendz they recommended going 2.5" if you had any mods such as intake, header and so on.. They recommended 2.25" only if you don't plan on modding it.

But yes, it should bolt up fine. hatchesrock has a 2.25" exhaust with the F2 header.

I recommend you do the mechanical fix anyways. If you disable the sensor with a tune, once you go in if they plug into the OBD-II port and see a sensor is turned off you'll fail. But if you disable your tune you'll get a CEL which will make you fail. So just do the mod man, it costs like 5 bucks and it's very easy.

 

No , If the sensor is turned of they have no way of seeing it is turned off , it just means when the ECU configures it just bypasses that test like it wasent even added to the ECU , no way of knowing its off it will just act like its working perfect
