What is a major thing you don't like on your ST?
Those are two seats/seat frames with the Recaro branded seat covers being a material difference, but not a different seat technically.st1 base fabric Recaro seats, st2 part leather Recaro seats w/ the st3 getting the full leather Recaro seats.
i like my seats but know this , you got to empty your pockets before you get in [thumb]Yeah, that plays a factor. I?m fairly thin, and it still squeezes me in the waist area. The seats push your body down in a ?v? like shape. I sit in other cars with no issues.
That small fuel capacity was I issue that I mentioned yrs ago, IIRC back in '12.I have (2) things:
-Tiny 12.4gal fuel tank
-Passenger seat is not height adjustable

I remember reading and talking to others about the fuel tank size through the years. Funny thing is my '12 Outback had about the same fuel economy but had an 18gal tank. Man was that nice! could get ~500+ miles to the tank! That small fuel capacity was I issue that I mentioned yrs ago, IIRC back in '12.
I would of thou a 14 gallon tank, specially for the st.....The Fist I believe has a 11.9 but gets awesome mileage, high 20's to mid 30's....Yup the Impreza I owned was 15.9gal. My wife's Foresturd has a 15.9 gal tank. Don't know why Ford couldn't have given us like 13-14 gallons at least...
14 would be better for sure. The european models get a 62 L fuel tank (16.38 us gallons) and even their base models have a 55 L tank (nominally ours gets called this also in some of the documentation on ETIS but ours only holds 12.4 gallons instead of ~14.5 gallons14 would be better for sure. Oh well...
It's due to evaporative restrictions. Tanks are physically the same size externally, we just need to have more "space" in them for the emissions equipment. The european models get a 62 L fuel tank (16.38 us gallons) and even their base models have a 55 L tank (nominally ours gets called this also in some of the documentation on ETIS but ours only holds 12.4 gallons instead of ~14.5 gallons
Turning radius is generally bad with performance Fords. Go look at the GT350. It has to do with bigger tires and more weight (which increases rack load). That and the ratio changes typically (so you get faster steering). Basically all these things work against turning circle. Unless you put a giant electric motor on the EPS, which no one (including customers like us) wants to pay for.My biggest complaint about the ST is that I don't have one yet.
What I hate about the SE is basically the same thing that the ST owners complain about:
1. Gas Tank
2. Turning radius
3. OEM headlight brightness
4. I don't like that you have to almost push down on the hatch first before it unlatches (most should know what I am speaking off)
Here are some things ST don't deal with:
5. Acceleration sucks
6. Delayed reaction time form car 9even with a proper tune)
7. Did I mention that a Corolla is just as fast as my car?
8. If I'm being picky, I hate taking traction control off in the settings
9. I don't think the OEM led color change lighting system is bright enough
10. Every time I go to my car its surrounded by beautiful women asking me what I did to the car (I wish)
I understand that they have a reason for it, but it doesn't mean I like that it leads to reduced range, especially for the higher output variants. It's due to evaporative restrictions. Oh I agree. Just need to direct that rage at the right people. I direct it at our inability to have common emissions laws between CARB, the EPA, and EURO.I understand that they have a reason for it, but it doesn't mean I like that it leads to reduced range, especially for the higher output variants.
Specially on a st, Ford kinda got it right for the rs as far as fuel capacity goes.Oh I agree. Just need to direct that rage at the right people. I direct it at our inability to have common emissions laws between CARB, the EPA, and EURO.
If we fixed that, stupid stuff like this would not happen.
Not really, the RS likely has a slightly different evaporative emissions component packaging as it's built in Europe, but to get to the 13.9 gallons it could still be the same 55L tank as the base model, but with less restriction from the evaporative emissions equipment which amounts to 1.5 extra gallons of fuel on board, but with worse fuel economy to make up the difference that the extra fuel would provide in range.Specially on a st, Ford kinda got it right for the rs as far as fuel capacity goes.
