Hey folks, today I noticed this nasty paint chip on the emblem. I haven't spoken to the dealership yet, and tomorrow they are closed. I received the car only 4 days ago, I think the emblem should have held up a little better!

Will they help me get it fixed or replaced? It is a darn eyesore right on the Ford emblem!

You sure that's not a ding caused by a rock or something?

I hear ya on eyesores, though; mine is in the form of a 3" scratch on a bug deflector, but with the laws of physics and other stuff, these things are probably inevitable even under the best of conditions -- it's normal to wish that a car came with a deflector shield like the USS Enterprise so that the body remains new and holds up value for longer...

I honestly wouldn't call the dealer on it. That's my opinion, of course, and they too might (or might not) pawn it off as saying "a pebble hit it".

Two cars ago, I bought a car and 3 days later a pebble crashed through the left headlight...

I would see what they will do, it is only 4 days old.

I would recommend some sort of bra for the front, I just did a bunch of touch up paint on the hood for chips.

i dont think the dealer will do anything, its not a flaw on Fords part, it only takes on pebble to hit just right to do something like that...

a few days ago a pebble flew off a truck and and chipped my windshield...

you cannot be serious. This would be like me going to the ford dealership after just getting a car but somebody keyed it in a parking lot. not their fault .. not their problem. easy solution. Dont stick your face soo close to the emblem

You can order a new one fairly cheap through fordparts.com. It was a little tricky swapping it out on my Fusion, don't know how easy/hard it will be on the Focus. I bought two, one is permanently attached on my storage cabinet in the garage.
Or you could just not worry about it, you will be seeing a lot more rock chips down the road...
