Falkens 722

I keep forgetting how slow your car is. Can you remind us how fast your all bolt on car is or should I post your 10 second 0-60 with full bolt ons and "super light wheels" "probably faster than yours" car. Jesus I'm glad I saved that video.
Wow, I see your still as immature as ever. Posting something completely off base of what was being discussed simply to attempt an insult.

At any rate I was asking because mount and lifetime balance and rotations cost over half that around here... I thought maybe there was a deal somewhere I didn't know about..

I highly recommend Continental DWS tires.

Where are you watching for and finding deals? Ebay?
I find the best place for deals to be right here on the FF BST. Well it used to be anyways. There are not very many MK2 parts posted anymore on here. Used to it was flooded with them at any given time. Now as soon as parts are posted they are bought so it is hard to get them unless you watch it closely.

I will keep an eye out for stuff for you though! Good luck with the hunt!

I just bought a cheap tire that performs alright. No deals here as 225/45/17 the size I had on when I got I changed tires were 270 something a tire.
Yeah around here 17" tires are the most expensive by far. They are more expensive than many 18"-20" tires.

I went with 16" wheels purely because there are lots of performance options and the prices on tires are great.

Continental DWS are only $119.96 A tire in 205/50/16 at sears. They are Ultra-High Performance tires with a 50K rating. They are superb in the rain!

I just price checked the continental DWS in your size (225/45/17) and they are only $124.99 a tire at sears! That is the smallest price difference I have seen between the 16" and 17" tires for our cars!
Very good deal.

Did someone say butt shots. Heres a 2 for 1

I forgot you got them on your car too man! Are you still liking them ok?
Love em. Helped me avoid an accident just the other week. Stopped JUST short of someone's ass end.

Also, what is rain? [rofl]

Haha exactly. Mine seem to handle just as good if not better when its raining haha.

Edit: They actual handled extremely well when we had all of that snow and ice this winter. I was the only one who didn't work from home the first day it got really bad here haha. I was still driving speed limit (45-55mph) with no slipping while others were in ditches or going 10mph haha

While we're on the topic of tires, I have to say my Summer tires, Falken FK453, are phenomenal. Very sticky and responsive without being noisy or harsh.

My "off-season" all-season Hankook V2 Concepts are good as well. They're more responsive than the Falkens but have less grip at the limit so I get plenty of rotation around corners.

Good deal Mac. I may have to check them out when it comes time for new ones if I decide to change it up!

Here is a few pics I took yesterday. Still haven't had time to detail it or wash it right as I have been busy the last few weekends and I'm on call this week. But I did restore the headlights with 30 minutes between pages this weekend! Lol

Mac, where did you get your Falkens?

I've never hydroplaned or felt unsafe in the rain. As far as driving around, there's not really a noticeable difference from wet or dry.
I don't autocross in heavy rain, so I can't really comment on wet "handling" but dry handling is like glue. Sometimes a bad thing if I'm trying to get the back to come out. With these tires I can tell the car definitely needs more power to reach their limits.
