Here is my 2011 SES. I picked up my SES April of last year. It runs real well. Around 150,000 miles. It is my daily driver except for the winter. It's very solid and I don't need it rusting out. The bumper covers are a little beat up but fixable. However I just bought new bumper covers along with new controls for the steering wheel. Also bought a roof spoiler from a 2 door. Other than routine maintenance I stripped and painted the wheels and new tires. Also got 1 inch wheel spacers for the back. Installed after these pictures were taken. The last picture is the next day after I bought it. Once spring hits I will be putting in some hours and get it looking nicer. and my girlfriend has the white 2010 SE and it runs great too. Glad I found this forum. I'm liking all the pictures and info here.

Here's my 2009 Coupe, my first car! I absolutely baby it cosmetically and have customized it to be a super comfortable daily. I've done tons of work myself including all new engine mounts, AC recharge, valve cover gasket, new transmission reverse light sensor, full LED retrofit (minus fogs), paint correction, interior shampooing and sound deadening. I've also installed a trailer hitch, rated at 2000lb, with a light harness. It tows a 5x8 UHaul trailer (900lb dry) with about 500lb of stuff in it beautifully at 60mph on the highway and backroads, no sway, totally controllable.

The 5 speed manual transmission is one of Ford's finest, and really unlocks the little 2.0's full potential. She shifts smooth when you want to drive people around comfortably, but you can bang shift it from a dig and spin the tires through 3rd if you want to. I love this car, I have 145,000 mi on it and I'm absolutely confident with the way I maintain it she'll see 300,000 easily. Just did tires, brakes, and am about to do plugs and serpentine belt.

She's an absolute beast on the backroads, has just enough power to be fun while still getting 33mpg on the highway at 75mph! With the trailer hitch she's more versatile than some SUVs. Even does fine in snow on all-season tires without traction control or ABS. I love my Focus and I love to see what everyone else does with theirs. Cheers!

  • enabled factory perimeter alarm
  • heated cloth seats using factory buttons (just swap HVAC units and they work out of the box)
  • custom Arduino CAN-BUS mod for radio display
  • SEL black leather steering wheel with cruise control and radio buttons. Had cruise enabled by dealer, got radio buttons working via FORScan.

All in all a fantastic daily, and just a nice place to be when on long hauls. Smooth on the highway and aggressive in the streets. Plenty of passing power. Getting into local car meets and even autocross next month, and planning to drive this thing another 3-5 years. The body and trans are the only original parts. 170,000mi on those, 10,000mi on the power train.

Sorry for the long post, but it’s been a long journey! Hope you like. Cheers

Adding some updates on my 2011 SES. My last post in this thread was from Jan 2020. She has been through some stuff since then. Right now at 172.650 miles and still running strong.

Hit a deer at about 20 MPH, I was on the brakes the second I saw him.

Junkyard hood.

Early fall 2020. Some primer on the hood and the new bumper covers. She got the winter off as I do not want this car destroyed by salt.

April 2021, guy parked opens his door into me as I am driving by. Totally his fault and he did not argue it. He also didn't get hurt. His insurance totalled my car but I kept it.

A little after I got her put back together. Also Modded the grille and new 16" tires and wheels.

Mid July 2021, Another deer!!

Back together again within a week! New headlights, grille, junkyard fender and hood. Rattlecan paint on those parts. They didn't have any black Focuses...
In addition to the damage repairs I have made I have done a lot of mechanical replacement of parts including everything steering/suspension related in the front, hubs/steering knuckle assemblies, brake pads/rotors, transmission filter/fluid/ fuel pump and of course an alignment. Handles like new now. Very stable at any speed. Another of course is regular oil changes and any other maintenance needed. Also coated the whole undercarriage with Fluid Film.

Sept 17-20 2021. Took a road trip from NY to VA. She ran perfect the whole time. 75-85 MPH was fairly common the whole drive down and back. Averaged 35 MPG down, 34 MPG back. Much more stop and go on the way back through NJ. I plan on long term ownership now. Future plans include a FSWERKS catback exhaust, redo the seats in leather/vinyl with a kit from leatherseats.com, spend some time better aligning up all the body panels I've replaced and more road trips!!

Man, rough go for that car! Happy to see it up and running after all that!

also… if it isn’t your daily or you have another car to use, 2.5 swap it! Costs very little and makes the car VERY fun!
