I love the gold. Yeah I want the dark chrome headlights but what I want to do won't help me much having them. I keep hoping one day I get enough smutz to start this project.

I will get another picture of it after the tint. its looks a lot better now that the suspension has settled. still gotta put the Steeda sway bar on but man just the FRPP shocks/struts and Megan racing Springs made a huge difference over stock

Looks alright in pictures but I've seen dipped tails in person and it always looks matte and real half assed. I just vinyl tinted mine. Beats any spray any day of the week.

Anyway, few projects I'm about to start on later this month probably. I plan on relocating my battery into my trunk which at the moment is completely gutted. Also gonna start more on my wire tuck since the battery will be out of the way. Then I'm gonna install the rear fswerks stress bar. I also have a clunking noise coming from the rear. Its been like that since I've gutted my trunk so I'm gonna add a bunch of sound deadener. Then after all that is done I'm gonna do my trunk enclosure for my audio. Was about to do that now but I know I'm gonna have to build it around the stress bar and wherever the battery ends up.

Wouldn't it make more sense to keep the battery in the engine bay since you want more weight up front in a FWD car?
Just took these today.

What size tires are you running? I like them. They look meaty.

Damn I thought my tires were wide.

Battery in engine bay? Nah that's too mainstream for 100whp car. [giggle]

I would guess it's for his wire tucked engine bay to make it look cleaner

Yeah slick got it. Less stuff under the hood. Attempting to fully tuck the bay then maybe shave it too. Also gives it more of a custom touch I'm going for.

If you're drag racing, yes.

Doing any other type of performance driving, no.
But it wouldn't benefit you to move it to the rear for any other type of performance driving, would it?

EDIT: I guess it would help even out the front to rear weight distribution. I guess I just don't see a big enough improvement for it to be worth the hassle. I can see why you might do it if you're looking to do a wire tuck though.

The average lead-acid car battery weighs about 38 pounds.
The 08-11 Ford Focus curb weight comes in just under 2700lb (More for automatic).
The approx weight balance of the Focus is 63%F and 37%R
The battery is a bit more than 1% of the total weight of the car, so moving the battery over the rear wheels can potentially change your weight balance by about 1%F/R
That's rough math with plenty of assumptions, but you get the idea...
If this were a heavier car, relocating the battery would be significantly less effective from a performance standpoint.

Rubix what are you getting now!? and Indy, what headers are you running?
F2 header. Funny, i was with a buddy of mine the other day. Standard zetec svt header and offroad pipe. One muffler bigger exhaust diameter. Mine is still louder with a resonator, muffler, and smaller diameter.

Exactly. Its not much but its something. Also putting it on the passenger side as figure driver weight adds more to the driver side so throw some more weight to the passenger rear to help distribute weight. Not that I'm doing any serious enough racing for it to matter but you get the point.
