I havent seen rally on tv since before speed tv came on.

okay, I need flaps lol. just got a carwash to remove all the salt n crap, and in the mile drive home, you cant tell lol. how do you guys have them installed? I can't really see where I could drill into front or rear to mount em

I just ran a few self tappers through the carpet crap for the rear and through the inner fender well plastic in the front. Holds perfect with no movement

When I had mine mounted, I used metal clips and stainless screws in the lip of the rear bumper and I made a simple bracket for the inner mount. Ill post pictures when I get home to show you all.
In the end I spent about $20 and they were super solid.

sent from my Samsung Galaxy SIII using FF Mobile

EDIT: here are the photos I was talking about.

I took a 90* bend of EDM pipe from the hardware store and smashed one end, drilled a hole through it and bolted it in behind the existing bumper support.

after getting them mounted I hit the desert for a short 5 mile drive, the car was mostly clean afterword.

Just bought me a tach/driver :D which I should have stock but ford thinks 5 speeds font need tachs i guess
Ye my budys ZX3 is like that to but my auto has a tach makes no sense i know.

Grab proper urethane ones from rallylights.com in a precut or custom size. Its what we and most others us in rally. In the front they're pretty wide and custom and they sort of wrap into the wheel well. They actually stop the front tires from spraying the rear bits when your tires are turned. Mounting wise its aggressive with angle alum. And bolts drilled through the fender and self tappers into the metal behind the wheel well liner towards where the swaybar comes through.

Rears are the precut ones from that website and we used the stock holes in the rear bumper towards the outside if there were any otherwise we just drilled and bolted with washers and if you go high up and far back enough you can find metal to self tap into.

This is of course for 00-04 only but i would assume all the way to 06 or whenever the drastic change was.

Awesome write up st12131!!!!! I'm definitely going to look into mounting it like that. I'm guessing the MK1 will be slightly different, but that's still an excellent starting point.

aight, yeah im stoked for this tach lol. been gonna get one forever, and for 25 bucks, brand new ProSport or something like that tach and ford racing driver, you cant go wrong. Ill look out for flaps though, those are another summer project ill be buying this winter to bolt on first chance i get
