I got my intake man! Now, going to try real hard and wait until I get a dyno done before I install it...yes I will already have I/E/H/Tune before I install the manifold, most people should have these mods anyway if they are installing the manifold.
Good glad your waiting to install after dynoing the stock intake , TB and existing intake , if your still going to use my tunes for this we can set up a time where I can remote in on the dyno and get you changes very quick for another run

You plan on doing the Intake manifold swap there why on the dyno the same day ? TB , Intake etc all the same day ?

And don't forget Tom's lunch that was part of the deal [hihi].

Edit: Nvm saw this was a remote dyno....[mecry]

Hey Tom.... it's $100 for three runs just to get a baseline, I won't be getting more runs in to swap parts, plus I'd rather do that at my home with all my tools handy and things as you know for the unexpected things like the issue with the hole....plus I'm doing 180deg therm at same time...and PCV delete, etc etc....too much going on!

EDIT: Unless I pay by the hour for the dyno, in that case it's $200 an hour!! Its expensive over here

We only have 1 choice of fuel. 93.
As for leaning out - yes it does. Then the sensors feed back to ecu and it adjusts. There is a limit to how much it can adjust, but only a header will not cross that limit.
Wow, expensive fuel...we can choose as low as 87. You sure about that? You seem very sure about some things sometimes. :)

When you wait days , change other parts , you will have to modify the intake to work then you have changed parts and if it looses or gains the numbers wont be as accurate

I know what your saying about changing parts and having issue and I agree

Dynos are very costly , I paid $35,000.00 back in 1996 for a new DynoJet and spent another 3500.00 for the other things that go with it

I just had to update to a new Computer and DynoJet software to all the latest stuff and it cost me just over 3200.00

There not cheap to buy and maintain so its costly to do a lot of testing if you have to pay by the day or Hr ,

Wish you were closer , Make the trip I had a guy drive here for the turbo and tune many years ago from Washington state lol

^^^^WA? Wowwww :)

yeah no kidding, that is about as far as you can go in the lower 48 states lol.

There's also 95 and diesel. I'm sure! Lol
I meant are you sure the header won't be leaning out and the ecu can adjust that much? :)

I got my 90 degree silicon elbow today but i had to go to work so tomorrow morning i'm going to try and make my new cold air intake. i'll post pics and stuff so people can get some ideas for when they do there manifold installs.

Well the intake was a bust. The 90 degree elbow was good in theory but I didn't realize how little room there actually is down there. With the 90 degree elbow on there is no room for the filter.

Just going to have to wait and see what Tom comes up with.

Im thinking I might be able to go further and put the filter down in the front bumper area but I don't know. Im going to wait and see what Tom does. Then I'll go from there.

Or I could get a flatter, smaller filter that would fit down there.

No, the problem is the MAF, it's so long that when you attach the air filter there is just no room. I'm wondering if i can find a smaller air filter.

Question to all, will it hurt performance to use a smaller air filter?

Something like the filter this guy used.

Got mine installed last night and took about 3 hours. K&n intake worked good once I had to cut the elbow to make it more straight. Just got my tune revision so far from torrie at unleashed and I feel a good difference. Really glad with the product so far. New TB should be here tomorrow.
where did you buy that filter? i'm thinking i'm going to need something like that for my intake too.

Nice try....you could add a section of pipe and possibly have the filter in lower bumper area like the aem...but not positive on that...I kinda wanted the TB in stock area but TTR said it would have.cost more money to make and a design change...probably with curved pipes and the plenum down more and angled TB would have been better in hindsight...oh well, im sure solutions will be made....I have run HKS mushroom foam filters before, they are small

It's a filter from Autozone. Like 25 bucks I think.
Man i hope my Autozone has one. I have been all over the internet, i checked K&N, Green Filter and Spectre and no one has one that shape with a 2.5in inlet. Well K&N does but it's $60.

Do you know what brand it is?

Also, that is a 2.5in ID inlet right? like it's attached to the stock MAF sensor?
