What's after the intake?

After installing the SVT air box/snorkel with a performance filter, should I get better fuel injectors to keep up with the air? or will the stock injectors be able to compensate enough without crapping out in the near future? I don't plan on modding this vehicle a lot if that matters...

Also is there any point in modding the intake filter/snorkel/box if I have a stock throttle body and intake manifold? [scratch]

Really the injectors are fine to keep up with the extra air.... lol and for some reason I think everbody's first mod is an air intake.... If you want to keep it super simple.... just start working on the flow of air and you'll be good... ie...

New Air Intake---New Throttle Body--- Header---Flex Pipe---Exaust
($150)----------------($200)--------------($200)------($100)----($250)

Think of those as the steps you need to take...lol

well a motor is really just a air pump and thats it nothing more in a since

first i got the CAI then i got a cat back and a sct flash X-cal. at the same time but i have to say the sct ( or anything like that ) will open up everything in the car but be careful u can blow things up if u dont know what ur doing

the car was built to handle the extra needs of a higher air flow system, just make sure you unplug your battery to reset the system. However to spoil your fun, most simple bolt ons dont really help much, sure you might see a more responsive car with a slight power gain, but its mostly just gives you a feeling of going faster with a nicer sounding car. So basically one mod wont do it. Each additional mod amplifies the effectivity of the first ones. Now if you are just looking to go faster save up and just go forced induction.

I am not looking to make the car faster really, cause if I wanted a fast car I would not have bought a 2003 Focus Wagon[:)].
All I am really looking to do is make it sound a bit better, and get a little bit better response out of it. I mentioned the plugs and what not because I want to get the most out of the additional air I am giving the engine...

Trust me, you're not getting that much more air with the svt box and perf. filter. Not enough to worry about changing plugs, wires, coil and def not injectors.
Well, it's more air than the stock air box, and that is why I posted the question that you just answered. Basically I was curious if I needed performance injectors and you answered that so thanks[:D]

but seriously dont waste time and money on a coilpak and wires,,,there well capable of handling any of the mods your doing,,i know guys went back to the stock when they went turbo, because you actually get better performance, ive got an accel coil pak and wires just sittin in abox i took back off and put my oem back in play..

A lot of people over look the MAF. I had MAF from a '99 ranger that added very noticable power gains in the upper rpm's. I only had a volant, exhaust and udp at the time. Got switched out for a pro-m for tuning purposes after i got my engine built. FYI there are turbo and supercharged guy still runing the stock ignition.

If you're seriously looking to get airflow start thinking about changing the head. That's a pretty hefty restriction there. Intake, throttle body, intake mani, those will make the car a lot more responsive, yes, but if you are looking for insane flow get a ported head and finish off with a good exhaust.

If you are content with just responsiveness, you can leave the head out and save like a thousand dollars. [thumb]

Blah! What happened to tuning?? My friend has an SVT with a CAI (AEM), headers (stock), magnaflow exhaust, and a chip (xcal?), and he removed his seats. I have a stock ZX3 with no back seats and a Weapon R intake (dont buy it...). We have about the same times on the track and we are never more than a car length apart when we drag. Id say tune your car after you get the bolt ons so that your car can recognize what it has. By tune i mean like dyno tune..
