That'd be a pretty sick conversion if it didnt cost around 1000 bucks!!! since i dont have an svt...

oh well i woulda put it in the right section if iknew what it was and it's only 750

actually i'd say it's well worth the 800 considering the only other option would be the brembo gran turismo kit that costs 2,500 per pair.

i wonder if you could rig the same calipers/rotors to the rear brakes as well? i want new brakes.

Its 750 dollars yes, but if you need the 290 dollar svt knuckles it's a little over 1000$. Which is why i said around 1000$.

It also says you need 17" or bigger rims, so that's even more money if you dont have 17s or bigger!!

no, if you have an svt, you don't need new knuckles. baer also has a rear system. I think it's 12 inch rotors and single piston calipers, but it costs around 1100-1200. also, the brembo kit can be had from steeda for 1500. 2500 is just the retail price, but if you shop around, you can always find stuff for less than retail. brembo doesn't have a rear kit though.

on a side note...I'll be installing a baer front kit on my svt in less than 10k miles when my front brakes wear out...and a rear kit when the rears wear out (not sure when). I did some research, and it also seems that MINTEX, our favorite brake pad brand, makes some pads that are compatible with the baer setup (same calipers and pads as a mustang cobra), so once you go through your first set of pads on the new setup, you can get those nice mintex pads...

anybody have any real-world experience swapping the SVT system for the Baer system and can comment on how great the difference in the two systems is? I mean, the SVT system is pretty good, even if it is single piston - I want to know how much of a difference the Baer system makes over the already quite good SVT stuff. For $800+ when its all said and done just for the front end, it had better be stellar and if it's just street and autocross driving, it just doens't seem worth it to me. Seems like braided hoses and new pads on the SVT system would perform superbly for just about anything.....

Well i would think 2 piston aluminum calipers would provide some good stopping power, i suspect way better than a 1 piston. And plus the 13" rotors!! that's huge compared to the rotors that come on a stock focus. But unless your serious about braking power than i wouldn't suggest doing this.

According to tire rack brembo has a grand turismo kit that will fit fine on both our axles . . .

I wouldn't do new brakes unless you were doing some serious track running. You just need the right pads on the SVTF for autox, even stainless steel hoses are kind of overkill.
