Look on the inside door jam of the driver side, there is a sticker that says ur vin and where it was made, also it says the back and front weight of the car, the 01 ZX3 is like 2160+lbs in all, cars are portly.

2,160 lbs??? I wish MY zx3 had that weight...In race trim it is 2,350...

 

no kidding 2160 seems kind of light

 

how are cars "portly" if they weight 2160. Last i checked a light car was anything under 3000 lbs, the elise is like a go kart at 2100 lbs. And the ZX3 is no where near 2160 lbs, more like 2550-2750 lbs.
That number in the door jam is the gross weight that the vehicle can carry i believe (havent checked into much but it certainly isnt the vehicles total weight).
If they actually did weight 2160, a regular zetec would run mid 15's, an SVT would run high 14's and my car would run damn near the low 14 second range in the 1/4 mile.

damn... I wish I could run a 14 in the 1/4... I only run 10.5 in the 1/8....which aint bad for the mods I've got

 

i said 2150+ meaning its higher then that cuz i wasnt sure of the real weight and i didnt wanna say to high.

2700 and change. I'm not sure on the exact number but I know that my ZX2 weight 2450 and the next closest focus is a zx3 weight 250lbs more.

Hmmm inside my driver door im pretty sure it said like 3600 lbs. didnt think that was right and i heard it could be off, i have a 01' ZX3. anyone know the weight for that car?

 

well... I'll tell u right now, ur car isn't 3600 lbs... that's how much the car can weigh ( and drive safely)...Silva_Bullet01, what is ur 1/8?

 

If you're reading the door sticker weight, that's GVWR.
Gross Vehicle Weight Rating.
That's the maximum your vehicle can weigh with a full complement of passengers and "stuff" in the trunk or hatch.

ZX3 is ~2,600lbs give or take.
Sedan has got to be pretty close to that.

That is what I do. I weigh my car at the local recyclers scale. Pull up on it, look over and see your weight, wave at the scale operator and drive off. Do this too often and they might start throwing aluminum cans at you.

The last time I weighed my zx3 it weighed dead on 2600 (with my body weight subtracted) and with 1/4 tank of gas and all the normal junk in a car. My car is at the light end of the average for the Focus. An SVT weighs about 300 lbs more, I'm not sure where the sedan fits in. Go find yourself a scale and weigh it, it's the only way you'll ever really know.

 

The closest scale I think is like 50 miles away...there aren't many here in Tx
