Looks like you can finally watch tv/movie/whatever while driving with this device. It's $425 which really sucks but there is at least an option.

Guess it came out a while back but I was oblivious.

Sidenote, if anyone has a cheaper solution please let the community know.

The MYTOUCH-VIM does not add a Navigation system, external video sources or iPod video integration. These features must be available when the vehicle is in park from the factory.

If it doesn't add external video sources, what video can be displayed?

On one hand, it would be super cool to have digital cable in my car via my smartphone and slingbox. On the other I'd probably drive off the road when my team scored and this bypass is expensive, hard to install and probably not legal.

Id be interested in seeing what some others might have experienced with this product though.

Lockpick is much cheaper, when they finally get one working for the Focus

yeah i have another much cheaper option. get the bypass wiring for $25-$75 and have your local stereo shop install it. not best buy or any chain store like that. since its illegal, none of them will do it

It's good to know that somebody found a way, but the price is a little steep.

I am working on a solution and will start a blog soon to document my exploits.

At present, I have OpenElec/XMBC working on Raspberry Pi with remote control courtesy of an Android app, and will work on decoding the CAN bus signals soon.

I am waiting for a Pi case to arrive this week and then I'll install the Pi in my Focus and set up a LAN to work with my phone as an Internet gateway as well as other connected devices.

When the blog gets off the ground I'll post a link to it here:
