the cammer engine from ford racing. a v8 crate engine made for you, ready to go. get your wallet out!
i am sure the ford racing website can give you more info, but move this to a different forum, this is for the spi equiped foci, not for info on engine swaps.

Ive been looking into the v8 swap and want it bad, but ran into a prob which is $$$. i only pay things in cash so i have to come up with like 9000 to do this swap. Im in my senior year in highschool and i have a job. Dont really have the time to earn 9000 in the time i need it. So now it was either turbo, supercharger, or what i think im going to go with is V6. This swap is 4000 installed with the engine and everything. Once i get it then i can get a turbo or supercharger rite away.

What do you guys think about a v6 focus. The place i was talking to used a svt contour, but arent there better fwd Ford Manufactured engines you can use. Im thinking maybe the LS, taurus or even the falcon. What kinda eng. would you recommend. has to be fwd or id still be spending almost just as much as the v8

I think it would be cheaper to buy a SVT and dump the cash into it. 20k can go a long way! You could upgrade everything all the way up to the supercharger for what you would spend on trying to stuff a v8 into the focus! You have to consider all the other mods that you would have to do to the focus due to dropping in the v8. the torque alone would probably twist the body unless you mod the body. Braking, suspension, the rear drive set up, tranny, legal emission issues, plus all the little stuff that goes along with an extreme mod such as this. I admire the dedication of going where few men have gone before but there may be a better way to go.... If you go for the v8 upgrade good luck all the way! Let us know all the juicy details!

The engine from the Ford GT costs $50k...

The thing with engine swaps is that the engine can't be older than the car it's gonna be put in.
This is completely untrue. Why dont you tell that to the guy with Project ZX351 that or the other people with carburated V8's in them.

FocusFrenzy is the only one in this thread that is right with the pricing. Everything can be done for $9-10,000 and this is including all of the modifications needed to make it work.

I think I'm gonna go with Focus frenzy on this one, I was thinking about finding a crashed SVT Contour and hopefully, the engine will still be good, get that, cram it into my car and probably twin turbo it if I can find the space for it, if not, then probably just N/A the damn thing, but I would definentally love to have that engine in my car, if you do that focusfrenzy, tell me, give me details and pictures so I can do it when I have the cash, please if you think about doing it, do it, follow thru with it so you can probably be the first modded v6 focus like that, I want to do it so bad, but my only draw back is money and the motor that I need...
