Focus Turnier - cannot remove tailight on trunk to change bulb

Hello!
The car is Ford Focus mk3 Turnier 2012 (wagon), which has a burnt taillight bulb (inner light, on the trunk). I opened the trunk, took off the plastic cover, took away the only nut that is holding the light but the light doesn't come off. From Mesteru' Dexter video (HERE) I found that you have to press to the electric connector and watch the lights corner not to break it.

Here is the picture with an arrow showing what bulb is broken:

Here is a picture showing where the light is stuck:

In the video the guy is saying that you have to use plastic prying tool in order to get that light off, but I am afraid this will scratch the paint. Really stupid construction...

So my question is - is there any trick to get off the light or sould I really have to use plastic prying tool / screwdriver in order the get the light off and change the driving light bulb?

Notice that he's also pushing the entire light fixture from the inside. There is a piece that is friction fit into a rubber grommet that holds the fixture in once you remove the threaded fastener. Might take some wiggling and tapping to get it to break free. I would try to do most of the pushing from the inside so you don't have to worry about the paint or breaking the lens.
