Sync 2 to Sync 3 swap and vice versa

So I got my hands on a 2016 FF with Sync 3, and I drive a 2012 with Sync 2 , is it possible to swap sync's? Both cars will be driveble so I need to swap them, sync 3 to 2012, sync 2 to 2013.

Any response will be welcome

In most Fords the answer would be yes. In the Focus the answer is No.

This is because the Focus uses a unique type of CAN network which has a message list that changes year to year (due to an optimization program called volcano).

Basically anything that is on the C Car platform (except MKC) and the B Car platform falls into this bucket. It's super annoying.
