I got some smoke corners off ebay the other day and man do they look great on my car. I would recommend this simple upgrade to anyone. I'm going to eventually get rid of all the yellow and red on my car. The only thing red is going to be my interior and in the engine bay. So tell me what yall think.

How much of a pain-in-the-ass were they to install? (Especially without a lift or jack...?)

And how are you gonna get rid of the red - get those smoked, Lexus-like LED tails? (which, ricey or not, look cool-as-hell to me...)

They were simple to put in. I got a 13mm deep and took out the nuts on the back. Each light has two little tabs that also hold them in one just fell out the other I got a small screw driver and gently pried it out. Now looking at the new corners, they look like there is no way a bolt will thread on it's just a plastic pole. The nuts will re-tap that. They just click in, make sure you change the bulb to orange: 1-to stay legal, 2 with just the clear one in you cannot tell that they are even on. It's a little tight without a jack. I'm heavyset and wasn't too much of a problem.

The tail-lights I was looking at r the ones on eBay: Smoke led tail lights, right now they are a bit pricey but hopefully they will eventually come down. I mean $200 for a set of tails, come on. I would also be looking for a smoke 3rd brake light. Right now I going for a smoke look instead of clear. I have a broken fog light and was thinking about getting the smoke ones off of eBay.

Speaking of ridding the car of yellow and red, I'm very tempted to commit the sacrilege of putting one of those three-bar, non-SVT clear grilles on mine (but only because I can't afford HIDs or ST170s with a Euro grille)...

As for the red tails, I dig 'em and think they're too much of a Focus-hatch signature to lose - although I DO think those aforementioned smoked LED tails would look badass.

^^ yeah, I'd get those bulbs that look silver until they illuminate...

You could get the RS brake light (I think?), but it's clear, not smoked.

(Thanks for the detailed explanation, BTW.)

PS. What-in-hell is this DSI clip everyone is talking about? (Nevermind, I checked cfm's site. A definite YES to your how-to thread...)

It's the clip that controls the SVT Dual Stage Intake. The svt when in High revs ^5k, opens to allow a shorter track for Intake air to run, making less restrictive air flow. They are known to break on the SVTs. They are just a little piece of plastic and the CFM one is Billet steel. To find it look under you tb. The cable for it comes from the tranny area towards the firewall you can turn it by hand once you find it. most where that cable hooks on the little plastic tab breaks off.

Here is the like to CFM for the part:

I got mine off of ebay for $25 shipped, so I save a little money.

Hey, would you mind putting up a link to the seller you bought from? I see quite a few smoked corners on ebay - all of which look like yours - but I'd like to be sure I'm ordering some good ones...
