Well the other day i was cleaning all the snow and ice off my car and stuff from the blizzard we just had....well there was ice on parts of the car other then the windows...so stupid me took the....im going to call it the ice wand b/c its name has slipped from my mind lol...and it left some scratches on the hood and stuff....well they are more like streaks b/c it didnt scratch the paint it looks like it just messed up the finish or the wax.....so how do i get ride of these marks do i just wax my car?

Well if its just streaks you may get away with claying and rewaxing. If it is scratches and you cant feel them with your fingernail and claythen polish and wax should fix it. If you can feel it with your fingernail theres a 80% that you may have to repaint the panel. the other 20% is the possiblilty that you can wetsand and buff it out.

I can't say it better than that...

In my experiences with evil snow-ice like that, it usually doesn't get deep enough to feel with your fingernail. That is, as long as the ice scratched your hood, not the actually snow scraper. It took me an application of Wayne's mild "red polish" and a rewax to get rid of ice-scratches, none were deep enough to require sanding or (gasp) new paint.

no i scrathed it with the ice scraper...i know stupid....but its not like deep scrates i dont think it made it to the paint...i think it just scuffed up the wax...so it should come out with a good waxing....if not ill be very pissed. Cant wax it till winter is over though b/c there would be no point in doing so b/c the snow, ice, the cold, the salt and all the other crap would just mess it up again. lol
