We're starting this thread to keep track of our progress and to share with the community. It's going to take a year or 2 so please be patient lol.

Our plan is to keep it 100% original as possible, but with a few mild mods.

I drove to New Mexico and back in 1 day to pick it up. Left at 5 AM and returned home at 11:00PM. Outran a storm that dumped 2 feet of snow on us the next day lol.

It was a daily driver, bone stock. I'm now the 3rd owner.

1 of 51 ever built and included window sticker, SVT letter, build cert, SVT manual, cargo nets, hatch cover, spare tire, etc.

Mileage is 132K

Body is 9/10

Paint is 7/10 due to fading on the roof and bumpers, but not too bad.

Interior is 9/10

Everything works except the typical replacement head unit that isn't hooked up to the sub woofer or steering controls.

It also needs love in the engine bay...omg is it filthy.

I'm currently trying to clear the codes and then the front wheel bearings are next to get it road worthy. Drives fine, but howls badly (to me at least). If that doesn't work then I'll buy new axles.

So far new O2 sensor.

Here's some pics and thanks for looking.

Today I started taking things apart to get to the IMRC and clean a little.

In less than 72 hours my wife will complain and want her garage spot back.

Boy O' boy is that engine bay bad! Can't tell an oil leak from grime (hope there isnt one...)

Quite the project, bring it to me and I can give it a good detail for you! Looks great really!

Amazing how plans change especially if you're married and your wife wants her parking spot back.

Got IMRC replaced today. While underneath I took some pics. The only scratch on the header was the one I put on it going in my driveway at the wrong angle. [?|]

There is a lot of work to do lol. Lots of dirty leaky stuff. This SVT was used as a daily driver and I was also told it can hold 5 bails of hay. Driven on a lot of dirt roads too.

I need to get plates on it says my wife (love of my life that which the sun rises and sets upon) so I'll put it together again. Good news is I get to take it all apart again later.

Oh...And just in case you forgot who won the Super Bowl.....[headbang]

Kudos to you my friend for "saving" yet another SVT and getting it back on the road, where it belongs!

Comp O is one of my very favorite colors in the SVT, and I'm so glad to seeing someone with the same passion for the SVT Focus as so many of us here on the Forums! I look forward to seeing your progress further on the car… and PLEASE… get that thing cleaned up, it's driving me mad seeing all that dirt!!!

Treat the car right, and it'll put a smile on your face every time you're behind the wheel… guaranteed!

Thank you and me too with comp-o being favorite. Your build thread was freakin' awesome btw. Love your SVT. 5 Star quality stuff dude. Followed the whole way.

I had a pretty sweet 1 of 110 SVT ZX5 (2003 CD Silver w/Blue inserts #218) I revived and sold it and I kicked myself for ever selling it. Never got a chance to show it either. Used the cash for down on my blue ST. It wasn't the EAP though so when I stumbled across this one I was on it like a dog in heat and my wife approved of purchase from day one.

Orange one will look like this when I'm done because that's what I like.

No way I was paying 75 bucks for an O2 sensor even though it's local so I ordered one from Village Ford and payed $52.00 shipped.

In the mean time I took advantage of the hottest water possible first thing this morning at the local car wash and sprayed down the engine bay. Came out nice actually and no signs of any leaks yet either.

It's still not anywhere as clean as I want it to be, but it's a start.

If you look closely at the wiring...Every single piece of wire wrap crumbles upon touch so I'll be replacing all of that as best as I can along the way.

Throttle and coil cover plastic was left off on purpose while I cleaned.

Got my part today. Dam that was fast.

What a pain in the ass that was. Looks like they had the wrong O2 sensor in it (BOSCH) and it was so bent I couldn't get it out. Had to use the end of a 24MM long box end wrench to bend it back straight just to remove it.

All codes are cleared. [headbang] Now I can finally go get emissions done and get me some plates! [thumb]

Sadly...my addiction has grown to 7. Please keep in mind that myself, my wife, and 2 of my 3 boys drive a focus lol.

We have 4 daily drivers, a few spares, and a Suburban just in case I need to tow a Focus...HA! [headbang]

Yesterday I took the SVT in to get emissions done, but the cat had not reset yet. [?|] Wheels will rub on testing thingy so all I had to do was an ODB check. [headbang]

So I drove it around for awhile and went back to test it. Still hadn't reset. [?|]

Drove it around some more (had to stop for gas this time) then retested for a third time...still hadn't reset. [?|]

So today I drove it to work, stopped off after work and got insurance, stopped at Harbor Freight just for poops and giggles, then drove it out to get it tested for a 4th time lol.

She passed!!!!! [thankyou] [thumb]

Now it's time to tackle the DMV on Monday. [vommit]

Then I need to figure out how to do the wheel bearings on the front.

Also need tips on how to recondition my Recaros. The passenger side is like sitting on concrete.

More to come, but now it's time to drink!! [drinking]

Doing it right up. I have heard bad things about the MSD coil pack. Maybe I misheard or something? Don't take my word on it.

#28 ·
I had the MSD/with 8MM wires on my silver svt with the AEM and loved it. That and a high flow muffler with a lunchbox delete made the mild exhaust sounds I like and helped it breath better.

I'm doing the same thing this time, but adding the TB and then a Tom's tune.

Hey mike. Glad you finally got one, I even seen the one you got and asked questions about it. If it was closer to me I might have snatched it up. I'm about 3/4 the way restoring the one I bought, getting the front seats fixed now. I put a spare set of red/black in there and my dads been driving it to work. Mine is faded as well and the kid was planning to race it so I had the interior out of my eap svt focus that I had put into it. At least I can say my track car was wrecked when I bought it. And that's the st I just finished building for endurance racing. It's a blast.
