Hi guys, I mentioned this company in my plugs thread as I searched everywhere for the best in plugs and ignition. I came across Granatelli and Weapon X, both huge companies in other car realms. I have known of them for a while via my other cars and my other car forums (yes, I belong to many, and own many, as I know many on here do), and have been hoping Weapon X would start to market to the Focus.
Weapon X mostly caters to the Mazda 3/6 series, Camaros, Lightnings, Mustangs, and even the supercar, the Ford GT. I have spoken at length with Mark, the owner, and if you know him and his company, you know they make top notch products. The two 1,000+ RWHP Ford Lightnings both run the Weapon X, as they had sputtering on other COPs. Think of Cosworth or Nismo, but with better customer service. Again, if you were involved in these other car groups, you would know all about Weapon X. Not to be confused with Weapon R!!!
Anyways, Mark has finally created some new products for the Focus. Plugs and COPs. My COPs are on the way , and I now have the plugs, to be installed tomorrow. I am REALLY excited about this. My Focus will be the first to run the XCOPs, mixed with Weapon X's own plugs. Now, before you open up with 'just another gimmick' I urge you to actually LOOK at the technology. Any tech guy will even admit that this is really DIFFERENT stuff. Below are links to the technical documentation, but mainly, for the plugs, they are a NO-RESISTANCE plug. Meaning, no ohms in the circuit. This is a new innovation. They also expose the flame kernal by tapering and cutting back the ground strap. Again, though, the main this is the 0-ohm resistance.
Mark is so sure of this, that they offer a guarantee...if you don't experience more power, better idle, etc, send them back and they will refund you AND pay for the shipping (this is on their Extreme plugs, the ones I ordered, and you can see it on their site). Now for some links and pics:

And, their COPs...Mark admits that stock is good, BUT, if you want the best...well, just LOOK at them! You should be able to tell the difference.
You can see they are heavily into engineering and innovation below:

He and Granatelli debate their coils being best. Most love the WeaponX. Neat read..about 3 pages in. Was back in 07 though, before they redesigned the newest.

The Plugs are about 10 bucks each. The coils are 225 for a set of four (much cheaper than oem!), and are competitive with others out there, such as MSD, Accel, OBX, and so on.
No, I do NOT get anything out of this, nor am I affiliated with them. I just had learned from them that they were doing this for the Focus via my other sites, and, knowing their huge successes in the other realms, got psyched up about bringing this news to the community.
I even got Mark to offer a discount to the forum members! I have a promo code that can be used on their site, if anyone is interested.
Once I install the plugs, I have to report back to Mark my results, and will post up about them here. There is a possibility there will be some RFI (noise) over the stereo, due to the no-resistance plugs. Need to see about that.
Then, I will do the COPs when I am set with the plugs. Noone is claiming you will see a gain of 50hp. I am interested in this as I have run out of mods that I can do, and want to have the absolute best ignition I can get. It is also a great alternative for when stockers start to go.
I am sure there will be immediate attacks from those who are unaware of the tech being done in other car communities, and people will be wary, but the Focus community constantly is looking for new vendors to cater to them. We have a new one now, so I hope you look at them objectively, and really examine the things I have offered up, such as the tech docs and the other forum testimony.
Thanks.
