Ya, the srt4 will beat your svt.

 

Well, I don't do much racing in my SVT, but if I was at the light with a Neon R/T, I probably wouldn't even waste my time. Sure, the SRT-4 is pretty sweet, but anything other than that, and it is just a Neon. The car that says "Hi." [rolleyes]

 

I find it hard to believe that anyone with a Neon R/T can beat an SVT. I personally would like to prove that myth wrong BUT the local R/T owners are scared to race my little SVT.

SRT4 gets a strong engine behind the handling - its no joke

 

i cant see any model neon beating an SVTF in a drag race except the SRT-4 (obviously). Its got just about the same weight and 5trq more but 20hp less. The SXT is a joke with only 132hp. I beat one of those from a roll badly when I just had i/h/e on my d-series hatch.

 

One of my friends has an R/t with Vibrant Exhaust and AEM cai, its fairly Quick but with my mods i take him pretty good from start to finish. When i was stock and he had those mods it was a bit closer, but i still edged it out just a little

 

they may stick around slightly in the low end, once the race gets around 60-70 you will walk them if they are stock

Too bad they stopped making the ACR. I actually liked that model, it was kinda like a modern day Road Runner.

Tell me something I don't know. Try driving the base model Neon that has the same engine, with an ATX, and without all the little convenience items that the SXT gets, for a year and a half. I mean, like with the ACR, I'd sacrifice power windows and such for better speed, but if the car is weak anyway, give me my power windows! God, I'm so glad I quit that job. I HATED those cars... []

 

lol... yah, and whats worse is the ones ive come across are worse (mentality-wise) than the civic ricers running around. Hell, most of the civic ricers that atleast have a 5-speed and i/e could walk on them.

 

Ya if its anything other than an SRT-4 you got em. Unless there running a turbo or something.

Kinda figured an SVT would eat an standard Neon or Neon R/T. I know the SRT4 is a quick little MoFo, I wouldnt want to race one so I give em props. Check out Neons.org thats where they talk all kind of crap about smoking Mustang GTs and Foci SVTs. Makes me chuckle.

yeah for the cost of 30k. for that price iwoudl rather pend 6k on a srt-4 engine and 4k on the handlign and it owuld kill a svt awd turbo car straight line or road course

 

if the srt4s weren't turbo charged, i'm sure we'd win easily.

 

i would still pick my svtf over an srt-4 anyday. i drove them both and the srt-4s handling was crappy compared to my svtf. the srt-4 ain't nothin without it's turbo, take the turbo away and u have just another neon!! the srt-4 may have use in the straights but in teh curves we'll eat'em up baby!! i proved it once to some guy and i'll gladly spank him again!

yeah, its not like the engine (or any engine for that matter that wants a turbo) is built specifically for turbo... moron [?|]

P.S. - A SRT-4 boosting only 2psi can still pull on a GS-R easily... so there goes ur theory about it being just another neon engine
