Thanks to everyone for their input in my quest to find a muffler/exhaust for my ZX3. I am planning on ordering the MBRP cat-back kit. For those of you who have this, can you let me know whether you feel it was a good purchase regarding quality, sound, and performance.

I had it on my last focus and it was well worth it. The only thing is the rear hanger. It's a little tricky, but works, sounds and is very good quality.

i dont have one but i do know that its the best bang for the buck for our cat backs.....as for sound...well, its also been called the most "ricy" of all the cat backs though.

i have it on my 07 zx3, and its the best exhaust i ever had.. great quality.. i would buy another if i had to... i used the stock rear rubber hanger... im still trying to figure why people are talking about this other rubber hanger... i have it... but everything seem'ed to fit nicely in all the stock locations including the rear hanger....

i wouldnt mind seeing a picture of someone using the MBRP rear hanger.... anyone got one?

I don't think it sounds like rice at all. Might get a lil raspy with a race header. With just the exhaust itself I love the sound. I've had mine since 2004 and had it on two diff. cars. First my zetec(obx 4-2-1 race header, Focus Sport flex, and Mbrp CAI. then my duratec(Cosworth CAI, MBRP.). Mine is the first gen hence the slash cut.

I think the MBRP system sounds great! Quality construction and easy to put on. I bought mine a few months ago. It's not at loud as people say in my opinion, in fact on the freeway you can barely hear it at all. It's pretty quiet inside with the windows up around town and not much louder with the windows down. When you gas it, it sounds like performance, not like a fart can. With the exhaust and intake mod, I can feel a difference, and now with my 93 tune from Randy at Focus Sport, it really makes a difference even with my ATX. The one I bought must be the second generation. The first generation was a bit louder and I bet those are the ones who are saying it's too loud but loudness is relative to how a person percieves it. For the price I don't think it can be beat! It also won't rust.
-bosengel, does you tip appear to be stright when you look at it from the back? When I tried to use the stock position, It wasn't centered and looked too low from the rear bumper. You must have been lucky that it fit well, I had to use the supplied rubber holder to get it to look more centered.

Best purchase I have made for my car, cost vs. quality, its one of the best bangs for the buck in my opinion. And NOT ricey at all....in fact, I was suprised at how loud it WASNT. Volume wise, it wont be setting off any car alarms in parking garages, but what you do hear sounds nice, at least to me. Its the way a car should sound....subtle yet aggressive. I have a bad clip if you want it...... (seriously, it was grabbed with an mp3 player's recording feature)
