I'd say they would be close to even power wise, assuming the Cobra was stock. Should be a close race.

 

If the cobra was stock, maybe if he has some work done. BUT, if the cobra has any good mods, he is dead, they can get to 500 HP pretty easily with just a few good mods MM&FF had one in the 11's with just bolt ons ( thats bad!!)

 

Hard to say unless you know what exactly he had down to his SB chevy. Cams and exhaust work wonders there, but it still depends on how aggressive the setup is. It's hard to argue with an 03-04 Cobra....

An 03' Cobra and an LS1 TA with those mods are not close power wise.

I hung with Cobra in my dad's automatic 2001 Firehawk, altought this was from like a 25 mph roll to about 80 when we both let off...

 

That TA should be pushing only around 310-320 rwhp. The cobra is around 350 or so isn't it? hmmm

 

Remember, drivers matter, and someone with an all stock cobra may not be all that good. Anything is possible

its 305 i think, i beliebe the kid in the TA, my buddie has a camaro with a lsi and a stick and its a bad boy. even when it was stock it was fast as hell, and with a few mods it just flies now.

 

A Ls1 with some work has close to the same hp as a stock Cobra. It should be close.

 

I believe that t/a could keep up. My friend is a prd owner of a 2002 camaro ss and when he had headers, exhaust, maf, throttle body, and k&n he pulled a car on an 2003 cobra with a bassani x-pipe. A mustang cobra does not have near has much top end as an ls1, the mustang is more a low end car unless you do the right mods.

 

98-00 ls1 t/a's will have 305 hp but if it was a 01-02 it will have 310. this car with a cam and some decent long tube headers can achieve around 350hp. cobras have 390. i could see it being a close race.

The WS6 package I believe included some extra tunings and yielded 325, same with the SS camaro.

 

dont forget to take into account the weight of the cobra the coupe weighs about 3650 without driver the the TA weighs about 3300 or 3400 lbs. I have seen many times mildely moded LS1's beat 03-04 cobras

 

guys, the 346 ls1 puts down 295-305whp, the rating is under rated due to the vette. with some exhaust/cam/traction and the pulleys. he could have no problem taking a stock cobra.

for those who don't believe me, i've seen many ls1's toy with cobra's. my brothers ws6 with full exhaust and little bolt ons ran a 13.2 on 7 cylinders and a toasted clutch.

imo chevy motors sound holow like tin cans for pistons. it doesnt sound sexy like the mooooostang. the mustang rumbles. it is rolling sex on wheels that cobra. yes it is especialy with the special edition chamelion pant job. i would definatly pick that sucka. everyone i know with camaros has problems to they dont hold up to well. and if you ever looked under the hood of a gm motor sports car you would quickly find out it would definatly suck to work on. its almost as if 1/2 the engine is in the dash board area hidden.

 

My dad's 3200 lb corvette pushing 335whp and 340lbs of torque would probably take a stock cobra.
