I am trying to figure out what is rattling on my drivers side front on certain bumps or potholes and running out of things to check or replace...I know that sway bar bushings could be worn out but look fine...Mine is a 2012 focus sel with 111, 700 miles on it and the bar bushings look new with no gaps between the bushings and bar that I can see. Have others had to replace there bushings before and at what mileage did they wear out. I know they are inexpsensivve, but they are such a PITA to get to on this car.

I have an 07 with 300k, and don't have any clunking from them as far as I know. I have seen them worn out on other cars, where the swaybar gets a bit rusty and chews them up. Don't know other people's experiences, they might cause more creaking than clunking noises, especially if you can see they are tight and have no play.
2012 seem to have similar brake calipers to the 07, I have had clunks caused by the actual brake calipers, and still do to an extent. You can try going over bumps with the brakes slightly applied to see if it changes anything. I have also been able hear and find clunks/rattles by kicking the tire.
