Also got the Titanium Handling Package. This is my first Ford since my '93 Ranger.

Fun Times!

(Guess I need to wait to update the "what I drive" in my profile until after I actually receive it!) LOL

if you can do us a solid, try to test the 0-60 with tose 18" wheels and 235/40/18 pilot ps2 tires.

I'm just wondering how much they will hold it back and plus the added weight of all the technology.

se hatchback weight 5spd 2,920 lbs (sedan weight is 2,907 so not much more) and auto hatchback is 2,948 lbs.

Titanium fully loaded weight is 3,240 lbs.
So a Titanium HB w/5speed will be ~3,212 lbs.

An extra 292lbs in tech and luxury. There was a noticable difference in how my car drove when i had a 190lbs passenger in front and a 160 lbs body in the hatch :D

But when it was me (170lbs) and my 160lbs friend was in the passanger seat it did just fine. So i am sure the added weight will be negligable since it is spread out differently.

One other thing, take out the spare tire and fold down the rear seats if you are going to drive spirited/autocross/track. It lowers weight and center of gravity.

Wait...

Are you saying that a Ti hatch weighs almost 300 lbs. more than an SE?
How is that possible?

Hi,

Long time lurker first time poster. I have patiently waited for a manual option to appear on the titanium trim level and I'm glad I waited....

To anyone whose ordered one.... was your titanium focus about $1200 less then a automatic focus titanium? (difference in price between manual tranny and auto tranny)

It is a 2012. Supposedly, a typical build time lead of 5-8 wks. We shall see. The MT is a no cost option. That stinks! At least I negotiated $4,312 off MSRP.

I will check out 0-60 times after I put some miles on it but I didn't buy it for it's giddy up. It is just a commute car. I'm not sure if the performance package was a good choice but I wanted to give it a shot. Worst case, I will find someone local to swap some wheels but I doubt that will be needed.

Congrats on your Titanium with manual tranny order, and bonus for getting the Handling Package. Nice combination to have the beefed up suspension with the manual, if you do not like the 18" wheels I am sure they will be any easy item to sell.

I would figure the Se with a Sport package should handle just as good if not better then the Ti... If you put the 18 on the Se also. [thumb]

The manual option is independent of other options, etc...

Based on replies, I'm getting ready to disappoint some members. LOL

I ordered the car late saturday and started a new job/commute Monday morning. One road was bumpy enough that I left a message for my dealer at 7:30 AM. I removed the handling package and added the polished alloy wheels instead. They are 17" like the standard Ti rims but I don't like the standard wheels. I was considering it anyway. 95% of my research was on the SE since the Ti didn't have a MT option. The SE performance package upgraded seats too and that was my biggest plus for that option. I didn't realize that the Ti already had the sport seats standard. The bumpy road just made the decision to drop the Ti performance package easier.

I think the handling package decision is a good one. On test drives, I could not get the Ti to do more than an SEL in the turns. I tested understeer onset on a clover leaf highway interchange, and they both began to understeer at almost the same time at the same speeds...I think the handling pack helpd in the transitions, but not where I would actually see it, in constant radius road turns

Well, still no build date. Last week, I contacted Ford through their site about my order. It is in the system. For those wondering the details of what goes into order/build prioritization, this the part of the response I received. Doesn't give me a great feeling about getting my Focus quickly at all...

Upon checking our resources, I can see that your vehicle is in order processing. As of this moment, build date and Vehicle Identification Number is not yet available. Please be advised that scheduling of vehicle orders for production is dependent upon our planned production, customer demand in the form of both retail and stock orders submitted by our dealerships, the order in which they were submitted (oldest first), and the availability high-demand options which might be restricted by the capacity of our suppliers. There are a great number of variables that may affect production, scheduling and delivery:

Option packages
Special powertrain combinations
Delivery delays of components
Certification of quality inspectors
Transportation of the vehicle to the specified dealership

During the initial start-up of production of new vehicles, additional quality checks may be put into place to ensure they meet our high standards and may delay both scheduling and delivery.

For questions regarding the status of your vehicle order, please keep in touch with Sales Manager. You may reach him at....

I hope this information helps you. Once again, thank you for contacting Ford Motor Company and have a good day!

Hey Jerry, I was just looking for fun on the Ford Canada website, and when you build a Focus Titanium it now gives the option for manual trans so I imagine you are okay down in your neck of the woods.

What is interesting to note, is the manual trans is shown to knock 1000 bucks off the price which contradicts what the original press release mentioned.

After almost 5wks, my dealer finally has a VIN. No ETA for delivery yet. The Ford system just says it is to be built in April.

I would think that means I should see my car within 4-8 wks. If so, that will be 9-13 wks after placing the order. Better than no update but not by much.

Came in last Wednesday. Picked it up yesterday (Saturday). May have put about 25 miles on it so far. It rained on my home from the dealer (2 miles away) LOL. Going out to wash it this morning before heading out and about. The clutch lets out further than I'm used to before engaging but I will get used to it.

It is the hatchback Ti w/ MT and the 17" polished AL wheels. Ordering mud flaps and maybe the rear cargo protector today. Already have the Husky mats So I might just toss the 4 stock mats in the trunk for protection there. Will get it tinted in 2wks since I'm busy next weekend and will get some type of exhaust tip. I would REALLY like to get all the chrome pieces powder coated black but somehow I doubt I will commit my time to the project. We'll see.

Took about 9wks to get it from my time of order.

Most of your Chrome Pieces are chrome plated plastic, so you will have to paint. PiX man, lets see it, and pix of the console with the stick [headbang][headbang][headbang]
