To remove the bigger lamps on the back corners, pop the trunk and remove the plastic covering. Locate the two black nuts, unscrew and remove, then push/pop the lamp out. Don't forget to remove the light bulbs!
As for the center ones, you'll have to remove the upholstery (or whatever) from the underside of the trunk lid with a Philips screwdriver. Unscrew all of them and when you remove it, you'll see some familiar black pieces. Unscrew those and maneuver the lamp out. You'll have to get the tips of your fingers under the lamp and wiggle it out. Be patient and you'll understand how to remove them. Don't forget to remove the wiring!
If you want to remove the center brake lamp, after removing the trunk upholstery, look up toward the underside of the assembly and you'll see two black clips close to the edges. Press them in and push the lamp out after you remove the wiring to free it. Not hard at all.
If you want to pop the reflectors out as well, you'll have to get under the car and apply pressure to the pegs holding the reflectors into the plastic in order to literally eject them. I found a nut driver helps...
Do three light coats with the Nite-Shades and follow it with three clear coats, waiting until the paint no longer feels sticky to the back of your hand in between coats, and that's after you wet sand the lamps with 2000 grit wet/dry sandpaper.
I'll attach photos of my lights for a reference so you'll kinda know what to expect, but it's
your car, so do what
you want! I've seen way worse than some tinted tail lights out there, but I believe you could negate the dimming effects of the paint with LED bulbs but still have the blacked-out look. I had a Charger behind me today and his
headlamps were as dark and black as the rest of the body, but I'm sure he has HIDs or something similar.
