Do the clips on the bottom of the cloth need any sort of tool to remove/ replace?

I realy want to add heated and cooled seats!

hrm will have to look for a picture so i know what im geting into before i take out the seats.

I was wishing the Titanium came with heated and cooled seats. I wonder if the stock unit can just be replaced with this:http://www.seatcomfortkit.com/servlet/the-173/Seat-Comfort-8-Motors/Detail
I wish the Focus controlled the seat temperature through the climate control on the MFT like the Taurus and Fusions can.
i was looking at an identical set! wanted to try it on my wifes car first but apparently the fabric is glued down to the cushion in a 2003 sunfire!!

For someone who is a beginner with cars and modifications, what is the difficulty level? Should I attempt it on my own?
For a beginner, I would say the difficulty level is about a 7 out of 10. You should be fine, just take your time and take plenty of pic so you can reference them and see how it goes back together.

The proper way to install heater pads is to remove the cloth or leather seat covers and tape the pad down onto the cushion and then reinstall the covers. That way you ensure the pad doesn't get bunched up. The correct tool to install upolstery is called hog ring pliers. You can get them at just about any small mom and pop hardware store. Don't go to homeless depot or blowes, the tools that work there most likely don't even know what hog ring pliers are let alone what they look like or how to use them. I paid 15 bucks for mine about 5 years ago at a true value store and that was with a box of 100 hog rings.

So I think I'm going to try this myself but can somebody elaborate a little bit more on this part right here.

"With you spool of wire, cut two lengths. Start at the fuse box, run it along the door sill trim, and into the driver's side seat area. Do the same for the passenger side, cutting across the driver's side area, through the gap on the bottom of the center console.

Strip the end of each wire. Pull the 15A fuses, shove one end of the wires into one of the slots where the blades from the fuse would go. Then reinsert the fuse, holding it in place.

Tuck the wires under the sill plates."

If anyone is planning on doing this, please take the safe route and use something like this Add-A-Fuse from Amazon when you tap into the fusebox for power.

Other than that, nice write up!
Absolutely, sorry I missed that step. Tapping the fuses in this manner does NOT get you any circuit protection.
Peaches the link you provided.. is this it?

It only says 10Amp, aren't the heated seats 15A? Will this work?

I plan on doing this mod to my daughters car with she comes home from school for break. So I need to gather a little more information. Are the fuses that you connected to constant on or switched? If they are constant on, does anybody know where I can tap into a switched source to run a relay? I prefer to have the power cut to the seat heaters with the car is shut off.

Thanks

for sure you want to use a relay and switched power otherwise she will end up with a dead battery at some point

I have installed 2 of these kits in my 04 and my sisters 07, Now in those cars the seat heater fuse is a switched circuit.

The kits come with relays already in-line, no need to install ones on your own.

I forgot to mention that it is a 2012 sedan. You are correct that a relay comes with the kit. Just need to know where to find a switched source if the heated seat fuses are not.

they should be switched in the 2012, rear fuse panel
