I've got the mod bug, and think I'll install heated seats next. I don't see anything too difficult with the install, but where did you all mount the buttons? I'd prefer them to be on the console rather than on the seats themselves so I can see when they are off/on (since my kids can't ever turn things off). Is there a spot on the console with nothing behind it I could pop two round holes for the high/low rocker style switches?

Stock location is on either side of the 12v power outlet to the rear of the cup holders, but would require a new panel since the existing one has a coin tray and off center power socket. The stock one has the power socket in the middle with rotary knobs on either side. It would require the pig tails and panel, which alone are three times the cost of a complete after market setup and you'd still need to buy the heat pads.

IDK if you can search out a timed relay as used stock for these things, but a std. one getting switch power from a key on source will at least insure the warmers go off with the car.

I would use key on power no doubt. But 90% of the time it's just me in the car, and if the seat heater is left in the on position they will turn on every time the car starts. I'd have to check the passenger seat switch visually if it was not mounted somewhere I could see it's position from the drivers seat.

i don't know how the se console looks, as i have the titanium x with heated seats as standard, it is difficult to know where to place them without seeing the configuration, i am also in the process of fitting heated seat pads to the rear seats of mine using mainly ford parts but aftermarket pads, the pads i got had the 5 adjustable temp switch for a bit more control, using ford parts i have the ford switches and power socket this came from a c-max, this will hopefully be fitted into the rear part of the console, but for these to work you also need the heated seat modules which are normally located under the front seats, while i am waiting for a used rear console to modify, i have worked out how the module and switches work together, tested and works, now just need the weather to warm up a bit to work out on the car to do the wiring, the seats can be brought in to work then,
the standard heated seats fuse is located is in the rear fuse box f31-43 these fuses are ignition switched if you have it
