It's been a while since I've posted here, but I've had some electrical issues that MAY have been improved with a simple modification.
I've had the clutch pack replaced for the DCT shudder, as well as the passenger motor mount for a different shudder. Everything was fine until a few months ago.
The shuddering came back, even though the dealer re-flashed the TCM and said it was within specs. I also was stranded when my car would not turn over, even though it was "fine" two hours later.
The radio began crackling and making revving sounds with the engine, and finally the last straw was when I had to pull the SYNC fuse 67 because I lost Bluetooth and microphone capability. This had all been spaced out over months.
Thinking that the simplest explanation is a faulty ground, I went to YouTube to see if anyone else had this issue. There is a Ford Tech that explained that the ground wire plate was actually painted at the factory on the Fiesta and Focus, so the only really solid metal connection is the bolt in the bolt hole, which is not enough.
So, following his instructions, I disconnected the ground wire and sanded down the plate to bare metal so there is a solid connection all-around. I then applied dielectric grease per his instructions.
I can't claim huge power increases, but the radio issue went away, and I cannot duplicate my DCT issues yet (that may be the key word, however).
Before, I could not climb my driveway without shuddering, nor gently go from 1st to 2nd. That's gone for now. Hopefully, it holds.
There is no downside to this mod, only an upside. YMMV.
