Front passenger hissing sound(purge valve?)

So when I come home from work a couple times I notice a hissing sound coming from the purge valve area a few times. Also I keep noticing that one of the hard plastic lines keeps poping off the purge valve. Why would this keep poping off, and what would cause the hissing sound? Could this be why my car sometimes shudders at a light, even though the valve isn't in use, being disconnected causing a leak to the intake manifold? Thank you for any help!

The hissing is from the vacuum line. Why it keeps popping off, I'm not sure of.

Check the large PVC hose at the back of the engine where it make a 90 degree turn and goes in the intake manifold below the throttle body. The hose tends to split at that area and results in a large vacuum leak that can stall the engine. You mentioned stalling the engine in your other post.

Thank you. I'll have to inspect it closer. The ones I noticed was the breather line going from the back of the valve cover to the bottom of the air filter. Then the pcv valve which I replaced already, the hose was a bitch to get on but it didn't seem to be cracked, then again I'm not sure where it disappears to.

You can get to the hose from the top, but it is not easy. It is not much easier to get to from under the car. It is located in a very bad place period.
Try using a mirror to help see it under the throttle body. And if you try to remove it, be careful not to break the connection to the intake as it is plastic. It also has a factory clamp on it that comes off by putting a screw driver under the yellow part of the band and twisting.

btw, I think the tiny hard plastic tube kept popping off of the purge valve because of the way the line was routed under some of the other nearby hoses. I tried to reroute it with more slack, seems to be staying on fine now.

When checking the pcv hoses, try to check the metal tube as well. Mine was cracked.

The replacement hose is about $40, so I made mine using about $6 in new hose and some plumbing parts I had on hand.

For hose, I used 13" of 1/2" Gates 27006 and 2" of 5/8" Gates 27008 (O'Reilly had them). I made up a right-angle connection so that I would have 1/2" O.D. and 5/8" O.D. to match the existing OEM hose (it has those two diameters).

The second photo shows where the rear PCV hose make its connection to the tubing under the thermostat. The other end goes under to the intake under the throttle body.

The third photo shows the OEM clamp that comes off with a small screwdriver.

The hose from the valve cover to the filter box is a different hose.

When the rear PCV hose fails, it nearly always fails where it make the 90 degree turn into the intake manifold. It will either split open or the hose will collapse at that area.

Thanks for taking the time to explain it to me i definitely have a starting point(again lol) to figure out what's up. So far my Focus has had all the common issues. The motor mounts, the front end clunking, the fan relay and resistor, as I'm sure you saw all my posts haha. The worst part is what I'm paying for this car because it's a buy here pay here vehicle.
