Is that not the cam cover?
Don't know... the first time last year they said the cam cover wasn't tight enough and was not factory spec, they adjusted that and said to wait if this fix the problem...

Came back 2-3 weeks later and they said the head gasket was leaking so they changed it.

During the winter, I put my engine cover on so the engine get hot faster...
When the winter is over, 2-3 weeks ago, I remove my engine cover (with the cover you don't see the top of the engine), I saw that there's still oil there. The bay/engine was cleaned before winter with zero oil on it. Something is leaking...

Poor descriptions apparently given to you don't help.

Felix questioned 'head gasket" because that is a MAJOR item compared to the cam cover gasket pictured that's seeping.

They both relate to the head, but pulling a cam cover is a simple job & a common issue compared to pulling the whole head to replace the head to block gasket.

Got the call from the dealer.

The valve cover gasket is leaking. They don't have the part so I'll have to go back. They also confirmed the rattle in the door which is good.

Of course, the braking system was fine while they did the test so everything is normal...

Mine is leaking too (so does other people here) if that makes you feel less alone! :)

But it's so minor that it's stay dry!

Valve cover leaking is not a big thing ... head gasket however i'm very surprised!

I have a '13 TI with the select shift; it's not transmission related However, it's mostly gone now, like some of the other gremlins; rattle in the headliner and another in the dash area. All seem to come and go. Pretty frustrating when a dealer charges $30.00 when they can't find an issue.
Yeah, I have noticed the head liner issue as well, had dealer (under warranty) fix it the first time but lately it has resurfaced, I just push on it and it goes away (poor design)....it may because of the moon roof...and the dash rattling seems to come and go since they replaced it. Luckily,
I have till Valentine's day 2016 to get all fixed before warranty expires as well as Sync.

When you head to your dealer to have this checked out, please let me know, along with your updated mileage. I'll check into some options. :)

Hey Squad-G,

I'm happy to see how to best assist on my end. Please send me PM with the current odometer reading, VIN, dealer, and your best daytime phone number.

Has your Focus been to the dealer for inspection, ELCouz? Please let me know the details, including year and current odometer reading. I'll see how to help.

I just noticed on mine that the stud with the engine cover holder(?) was very loose. Had the same weeping as the picture showed. I wonder if it has something to do with the engine cover vibrating it loose? Tightened it up and will keep an eye on it.

On further inspection, ALL of the cam cover bolts were loose. They are supposed to be 89 inch/lbs, and all of them took multiple turns to get to that spec. Checked oil level and it was fine so I guess there wasn't too much lost to leaking.
Was quite surprised to say the least!
