Cosworth does not paint anything black, so yea its a knockoff, Just dremil it smoother when you get it..

 

Makes me wish mine was black. O well lol

Intesting things: The Cosworth tape on the panel, most copycats don't bother to do that. But the machining on the TB section is weird. They didn't machine that area, it was all cast. And it has no provision for the IAC.

 

Ok, I got the intake in and have more detailed pics. Lower side of intake numbers are YR0040 top of intake runner is 91007.

I dont think so , can you send me some more and better picturs from all over the intake , that may be the Cosi Race manifold or one of the 2.0 manifolds I know they built some of may of got out , To me it does not look like the Cosi knock off that I have done about 10 of

I'm with Tom on this one. It looks nothing like the knockoff, instead looks like an evolution of the part I have.

 

Looks way to good to be a knock off. And just because Cosi didn't paint them doesn't mean the previous owner couldn't. You sir may have just got the score of a lifetime.

 

I think it doesnt have the placement for the Idle Air because it is for the later Duratec with drive by wire , they dont use a IAC the same way as STD manual TB

^yeah I noticed that too, Tom. It looks like there are no holes for the MAP sensor either. Maybe this is some type of special run Cossie made??

 

Usually Cosworth stamps a build date on the top. 91007 doesn't make much sense, since its MM/DD/YY.

I'm still guessing it was a rumored 2.0 manifold, but the lack of IAC and MAP is confusing, since I doubt they made a run just for 2008+ models.

 

The Duratec doesnt need the MAP at all to run right , The 2.0 Cosi isnt a rumor I have held one in my hands , It was the demo Intake and I am sure they made more then just one of them

That black intake with the non painted Cosworth wrote in the cover would look very sweet

Not having cosworth on the plate is kinda sucky IMO lol that's the hole reason I wanted mine, was just for the name. Plus I got a good deal. It's a shame cosworth doesn't make many parts for our cars anymore.

 

did the 2.0 version/ drive by wire version not have a place to run the PCV hose to on the back? Its not drilled on this one. a little fishy

i think is an evolution of the knockoff

 

inside looks well finished like the cosworth. the lack of drilled and tapped holes makes me think maybe its an unfinished prototype or something that didnt pass QC and got yanked off the line?

Could be a blem............or really good knockoff, since the Cosworth prototype 2.0L version on FSWerks facebook photo page looks totally different.

 

I talked with Cosworth today and the say that these are not there intake , I dont buy it , I have one here my self now and I looked it over good this is one nice quality part , My opinion is it IS a cosworth Intake that some how got out of the machining area or something along those lines

Reguardless it one of the best quality Duratec Intakes I have had in my hands , its as good as any Cosworth (I still think this IS a Cosworthpart) if not better because of the Black powder coating

Definitely, this is not the chinese knockoff. Maybe can be the chinese but someone had work to get it this way.

I have one chinese and the flow stacks machining is very poor.

 

I agree , I hands down feel its a Cosworth piece
