If yuo use a Green Filter. Might check it for the filter failing by having largerish holes developing on the folded edges.
Post from ST dot org where pictures of the filter having large-ish holes in the filtering material at the outer folds.

I had a K&N before. but I decided to go back to stock air filter.
A post (someplace) about some warranty not allowed on a turbo fail due to dirt scared me.

I heard that too, dust got through the filter to the turbo or some shit. The idea remains unsettling to me, even though I would like to do something like that

o.o what warranty im at 296,000 anf 493,000 xD

I posted the Ford performance warranty info in that thread you previously posted about using an aftermarket filter and having a claim denied over dirt. I call BS on that claim the person made about dirt since Ford covers Mountune / Green Filters under their factory warranty, plus Green / Mountune also have their own warranty against defective filters.

ok im curious >.< ive been out of the focus scene for quite a while due to an extended hospital stay..

heh i just want a washable one i have no desire to add horsepower to my car im quite content with how they are running..

if i really wanted to play with a sportscar ill just jump in my jag or borrow my brother in laws vette.. my focuses are work horses they all paid me back with interest.. lets just say ive caused my car to squat and run in that manner several times and the car never flinched..

they do look interesting but again never seen them in Canada, this is the first I've heard of them..

MK3 in your eyes how do you see them better then others?

Pretty sure this is the pair that are now part of the same company, remember some finding K&N marks on plastic sections of Green filters.

K&N bought them out IIRC.

I like the Green Filters. Easier to clean and re-oil than the K & N.

I also don't think they are the same companies. I am pretty sure K & N (which is self owned) sell parts to Green (who is owned by Brand Builders Associates), who then sells parts to Monotune (who is from the UK).

K & N is in California, Green is in Pennsylvania, FWIW.
