Moved to the Engine & Trans Swap section.

 

Might run into axle issues since the mazda uses different knuckles and suspension up front.

 

Think the pan will work for a drain bolt type, not so sure about the trans..

IIRC from a General Tech Chat post the Mazda version numbers the solenoids differently, and the wiring might actually be too different to work (as a plug in at least).

Are we sure the bellhousings are the same? The solenoids are indeed numbered/lettered backwards from Ford ones. Pan should swap. The lines to oil cooler change up some, as does the end cover. The Ford end cover by far a better part. More than one final gear ratio too, that can confuse the PCM according to rebuilders.

 

I've swapped a ford valve body into the Mazda trying to troubleshoot a suspected issue. The valve body worked fine. I've also swapped the manual valve from one to the other with no issues.
