I have had DCT issues since Day 1, car had never been fixed, multiple dealers and I'm running out of patience.

I'm giving them one more chance to fix it and after which I will not bother anymore.

Also Ford only gives you 1 day credit for a rental in my case, if my car is at the dealer for weeks, they better fess up and give me a loaner car for free. VW did it when I owned a Jetta and had issues with the Airbags, car was 1 year old and the dealer had it for nearly 2 months waiting for a part to arrive from Germany.

I have had my clutch re built TWICE...it only had 18,000 km on it the first time and 29,000 km the second time ...I am so mad. I am now up to 32000 km and I can feel the clutch giving out yet AGAIN...I want to do something about it. I really don't want this car anymore it's dangerous. i have the 100,000 km warranty but seriously what will happen to me after that? I'll be stuck with this lemon that's what!!! Too bad Canada doesn't have a lemon law or I would be suing. Disgusted because Ford keeps telling me that I should be happy because they fix it every time for free. I bought a brand new car so that I wouldn't have to bring it into the shop every 6 months for major repairs and I hate driving it because well it sounds horrible and people stare at me while it grinds away!!! Any suggestions on where I can get help with this???

The real sad thing is that 2014 models seem to exhibit similar transmission problems. Over three years and Ford "engineers" cant fix these lemons. Tells you something about Ford cars in general...

I just want them to take it back and cancel my payments...the ONLY thing wrong with it is the transmission...and since they think it is fine they should have no problem taking it back. I would rather buy anything but another ford!

2012 Fiesta, 35,000 miles: I was told at the dealership that the shuddering was normal. That was after the letter from Ford stating it was not. They updated the software and the shuddering lessened but is still existent. However, the car now makes a lot of noise and jerks back and forth when shifting. I am taking it back in again and will see if they deny there are any problems. I want the clutch replaced and seals that don't leek.

please seek out meagan the Ford rep here at this board and she can help you get your case escalated like so many, many before you.

any dealer still peddling that "everything is normal" mumbo jumbo has not kept up with the F revision which sounds very promising and makes "normal" symptoms go away, from what I have read here.

Meagan. I already have a case number. I will keep you abreast of the process Ford has in place in dealing with this particular problem. Thank you. Tom
@mr_cassandra Thanks! You're always on top of suggesting me. :D

@UpsetTom The best way to get a hold of me is via PM, I may not see a post in the middle of a thread. Please send me a PM with the case number, and I can look into it.

I have this problem with only 15k km on the car. Ford Canada is involved at this point since I have been waiting for a new clutch since Nov 2014, it's now Mar 2015 and they still can't give me an update.

I too have driven this car "gently" and at this point I'm going to try being harder on it and drive in sport mode to see if it helps. I have noticed when I get pissed that it's making all kinds of noise and shuddering that if I stomp on the gas, it does respond better. I just don't want to kill it until they call me to tell me the new clutch is in and waiting for me.

What is really irritating is I originally wanted a manual transmission but one wasn't available in Canada with all the other options I wanted, so I got suckered...

Well that didn't work out so well. Nothing improved and all symptoms were even worse...not to mention my gas mileage! BUT...I've found that strictly driving in manual mode is like there is nothing wrong at all! No odd noises, no chattering, no hesitation, etc. I've never really used the manual mode much in the past (I just couldn't get used to not having a pedal clutch) but after a day of going manual...I don't think I'll go back to automatic mode....EVER.

Got another call back from Ford Canada...no update. At least, they follow-up each week even with no news. I give them that!

UPDATE: 2015/03/26 and my girl is getting her new clutch assembly! Thank you Ford Canada and Desjardin's Ford!

Long-term no problems, until...

At around 60k I would get intermittent shudders, but not so much if I gunned it a bit at start. Suddenly, the TCM gave out. I found out it was under recall, along with all of the horror stories in forums, YouTube vids, etc.

Luckily I have an executive connection at my Ford Dealer, so I exploited that to get same day TCM replacement service as well as - I was told - a thorough inspection of the trans. Car is driving VERY well, actually.

3 weeks later (2 days ago), I went to a third party oil change place for first time trans flush (coupon!), and was told my seal was leaking, so they would not do the service (wow - integrity!).

I now have an appointment to go back to the dealership again this Monday, and I will be damned sure to ask for the old seal they replace, as they obviously either didn't inspect the trans, or didn't do a "thorough" job. Service Manager was snarky over the phone. Will return the favor on Monday morning. ;-)

Hopefully, I can get another 80-90k out of this Focus. I DO love this car, which is good as I am stuck with it for the time-being, given the KBB value is only ~$6200. :-(

so now for my current update. Ive had my 2012 TI for 30 months, and it has 104,xxx miles on it. I drive the car very hard, all the time. I have never had the shutter issue, nor leakage everyone has issues with. The split date on these cars is 12/7/11 my car was made like 12/20/11.

I have had the TCM replaced at 50,000 miles and again at just over 100k miles. Return the next day car driving just as bad. It would make the 1-2 shift fine, it would hold 2nd really high rpms to the amount of throttle input, and then skip 3rd shifting right to 4th. well this was the same as before I took it in. BUT now its also skipping 5th and going 4th to 6th. I take car back next day, my service advisor was off that day, so the manger tool over. I return at end of the day they say the clutch is shot 300 RPM slippage, needs to be replaced. After a few conversations with the manager we decide to get CRC involved and they stepped up and knocked my bill down from 1500 to just under 700.00 to have the clutch installed, that was about a month ago, been waiting for a clutch ever since. Last weekend I got the "trans overheating pull over and wait 5 min" error message. So I drive spare car to work Monday, My service advisor says to bring car in, I leave super early and limp car in on Tuesday. They look at it and decide that its deff more than just a TCM again, and a cluch finally showd up yesterday! awesome!! well I go by today on my lunch break, see car still on the lift. I go ask service advisor, no luck so far huh? he said you have no idea, 2 new clutches (aparntly they had an emergency clutch on site) and a new TCM and car is still NOT functioning correctly. When I left they were taking a break from it, and tech not sure where to go from here.

I have 0 complaints on the 2015 F150 Ecoboost I got as a loaner/rental and I fell my dealer is doing everything they can, and more.

Tom good to see your still around sir!

Just got an update from ford, their tech believes that it is possible the clutch actuators, will have them in tomorrow and see what that does, Ill post once that has been done.
Hi guys,

Please keep me in the loop with how your dealer visits go, along with an update on your mileage.

Went to my ford dealer (perry ford in Poway California) at the time I said I would be there, and the tech was just un hooking his lap top from my car, I ask him how it went he gave me thumbs up, and said I just need to test drive it. 45 min later rental returned car washed and running/shifting JUST FINE. YEY!!!!!!!!!

interesting note, it was the 2-3 clutch and actuator that was shot. When traffic is bad, and I got the back way home most of the trip is 2 and 3rd gear, I would say that that has proably 2x as many shifts as the other clutch and actuator.

Service manager Russ and my advisor John Stevens were great though out this process, I thank them a ton.
