I’m wanting to do some suspension upgrades to my C MAX and wanted to see if anyone knew if focus parts would fit my car? I’ve tried searching for parts and haven’t been able to find anything except some D2 coil overs. It seems like the only people that own my car are either older or have no interest in mods. I did see on another forum that another C MAX owner had possibly found out that all the dimensions of the Focus are the same so any parts would fit. I’m definitely gonna swap out the tires and would like to do some coil overs and front and back sway bars.

It's based on the same platform, but its suspension tuning is completely different because of its much higher weight and different weight distribution.

If there's no aftermarket specifically for the C-Max, then you're absolutely out of luck.

I feel like focus parts like sway bars would work. It has the same dimensions as the focus which is all that matters with these type of parts. Weight and height has nothing to do with suspension parts except for the coil overs and there is a company that makes them. The car has a very good feel already it just needs some help with body roll which I feel tires, coil overs, and sway bars would fix that right up. For a hybrid it goes pretty fast too. That electric motor gives it low range pull almost like a turbo. I’d say it’s faster than a regular focus.

No one is going to be able to answer this. My best answer is for you to be a guinea pig and find out if it works or not. Example I have a 2010 Ford Focus SE it doesn't have a rear sway bar, but the SES Focus does have a rear sway bar. Now could I take the SES sway bar off and put it on my car no, because the rear subframe is different and doesn't have the holes for it.

I got ya man. I guess I’ll find a good place that allows refunds and try it out. I wonder how difficult it would be to fabricate one from scratch? Maybe there’s a company out there willing to try. The only reason I came on here was to see if any Focus people had seen or heard of anything with the C Max. I really don’t see why people wouldn’t want to mod this car. It has a wide profile and really good low end torque. I feel like if I just throw on the D2 coil overs and some high performance tires I’ll get more agility. I’m also going to see if I can get a shop to fabricate a cat back exhaust for it.

Reviving in case it helps...

Rear swaybar: A gen 1 Mazdaspeed3 rear sway bar fits both the Focus and C-max; you can use stock Ford end links. Great mod for reducing understeer.

Rear shocks: Koni adjustable yellows for the Focus (8040 1351Sport) fit the C-max, no drilling required. Even at the softest setting, the settle the rear of the car and help reduce porpoising from dips.

Wheels/tires: Focus ST wheels fit (and look great imo). Comparing Focus ST 18x8 wheels with OE Goodyear summer tires@3/32", the noise level at 70mph is about 2db higher than OE 2018 C-Max Continentals.

The above mods gave my C-max more engaging cornering than I could get out of my 2013 Focus with similar mods. I think the C-Max's more balanced weight distribution may help.
