Does anyone know if anyone has produced a trubo kit for the new 2012 ford focus? or a programmer at least??

Sorry but ford racing will not make a turbo kit, especially since the ST is coming this year. Closest we would get is if roush releases their kit and we have a certified ford dealer install it. Other then that aftermarket is the only option we get.

May people who go as far as turbochargeing their car know what they are getting into because of the time, cost and effort

I would think that the clutches will start slipping well before the gears start losing teeth. Wouldn't the power rating for this trans be more a power cut off based on clutch slippage?

I wouldn't be surprised that by the time a tested and complete turbo kit hits the market (from someone reputable) we have upgraded clutches available to handle added power.

If you do nitrous make sure you use a wet kit so you can control the amount of fuel and nitrous that is injected into the engine. Also start off with a higher fuel jet and use a wideband to get the nitrous and fuel pills right. If anyone wants more info make sure to check out the F/I portion of the forum or PM me :D

Will the DCT handle a Turbo

I was hoping, after my warranty is up, to kinda make my Focus a toy to work on....now I know it's an auto and I know it's not a racecar and never will be, but dammit I want to get as close as possible.

I also would have waited and gotten an ST, but I can't drive manual (again, I know I know, I'm not a man unless I can drive manual...[:(]).

Anyways, I've read that unless the compression ratio can be reduced this isn't an option. My question is, could the DCT transmission even handle a turbo.

Would be fun if we had a beefier tranny and some forged internals. Then something else would become the week link and I'm sure with more power, these cars would wheel hop like crazy. I'll be happy if I can pull 200 whp out of this thing, and I think after somebody figures out a tuning solution, another issue with going turbo, that is entirely doable.

Keep in mind that the 175 is whp. The jury is still out on rough drivetrain loss numbers. It sounds like 200 whp is going to be acceptable for the DCT, given my limited knowledge of it.

Given the ST has 250 ft-lb, I guess you wouldn't be able to do an engine swap without MAJOR modifications to the car. Actually, you'd probably have to swap the tranny too.

Man, I can't wait til tunes start to come out. I can imagine FocusBoy is going to go to town. Prediction: he hits 200 first! I'd put money on it.
