good tips. This wont apply (I hope to a 2012-2014 models) but if your heater core is leaking that will do it too. Thats what I thought it was with my 96' Taurus. But it ended up being my recirc door stuck in recirc.
This car is strange because when I jump in (usually in the AM before sunrise and the car is outside) the windows are clear, but when I set the fan to 2 and set the discharge to the window/floor setting and have the recirc not selected, the front windows fog up within 3 seconds, then takes 3 or 4 mins for the heat to cook it off. cant drive it, I have to sit there, very annoying. This is 40 to 45 outside temp with 90% humidity. But like I said in a past post, never had a car or truck do this. I believe the AC compresser is running anytime the defrost is set like in most cars even though the AC light is off. In my Honda Element you could program the controls to only enable the AC pump when the AC button is pushed. That was nice, but for most people the car companies want that pump running for defrost to improve performance. On my for ranger I unplug the AC compressor under the hood. I have read that many cars the AC pump is inhibited below 50F. But the ranger I can hear/feel it cycle to I take it out in the winter for drivability performance reasons.
