This 'HOW TO' was copied off of FocusCanada by member GUILTY who is also on FF.com

Tools needed:
DIN removal tools
7mm socket
phillips screwdriver

Process:
1. Remove stereo
Insert DIN removal tools into holes on deck
Pull radio out (I found it easier to push on the deck from behind the dash)
Unplug antenna wire and all wiring harnesses

2. Remove 4 x 7mm hex screws from the corners of the stereo opening

3. Remove ashtray and cigarette lighter

4. Pull bezel from stereo opening, popping the two top clips, then bottom

5. Unscrew Hazard button LED (2 screws)

6. Unplug cigarette lighter

7. Unscrew HVAC control (4 screws)

8. Unscrew Defrost buttons (3 screws) (not necessarily in this order)

Awesome. Thanks.

I needed that, mine is cracked from where the jackass who owned it before tried to pry the stock stereo out with a screwdriver.

Replacing with a black one from the SVT.

Thanks for posting that, S2. FocusSalvage has a black one for 20 bucks used, and I'm about to tear that up! If it's scuffed up, I'll repaint it myself. I thought you had to take apart the whole dash to get the radio bezel.

It's definitely better to use the u shape tools but with the nails, it can be done also, push the nails into each hole, then you have to hold both with each hand, so both left ones with your left hand, both right ones with your right hand, then push inwards (pretty sure, can't remember honestly, haven't done this for probably 5 years now) and while pushing inward (like in towards the deck, not to the back of the deck), pull the unit forward while holding the pressure.

Personally, for the cost of the tool, go buy one...... I was in a pinch and did it with nails at the time (late night, no Walmart even remotely close to where I was living), and just threw in my 2 cents on this thread as an 'alternative' to the tool.....
