I think you are the first that I have seen buy the secret weapon type R intake.... You will have to let us know how you like it. When you get all your parts through up a thread and take alot of pictures lol

From what has been said on the forums no one with any intake has thrown a code. I have the Steeda with close to a 1k miles on it and no issues at all. And users with the K&N, Ingen, and FSWerks none have had issues with the intakes.
yeah i have the steeda short ram which is fully open and no codes after 2500 miles.

And being the first with the intake also means that you will have to take it to the dyno and post numbers. We will need stock baseline, then each individual mod, all run on different octane levels.

After that, someone will inevitably start an argument about something. Don't worry about interjecting, someone will have your back and cover your side. This, this is how we discuss.

Seriously, though, I'm interested in seeing the Type R installed. Sounds like you are about to turn a fun little ride![thumb]

Well make sure you go before!

I should be getting my baseline this weekend, unless things go awry...

Stock, DCT, K&N drop in, Ram-ish air mod, 91 octane.

Hi, I recently purchased a 2012 focus se hatch which I'm already falling in love with. I downsized from a highly modded cobalt ss/tc and I'm looking to put a few mods so its not such a drastic step in performance.
A Focus from a Cobalt is hardly downsizing.

A focus se from a cobalt ss/tc is a huge step down in power. And if he was modded those things are stupid easy to get to 300hp/300+tq

See I was beat to the punch. Also the sstc's if done right looked great! Loved them when they are stanced

Yeah I know the delta bodies are lowers suspensions where tough, my ion on progress springs was pretty bad lol

Got any pictures of the old whip? I may have to head over to ss.net to see if any old faces are still there

It is when that cobalt made 364whp and 345tq

I know in power it is but I was refering to the whole package. The looks and feel. The class.

Hell the cobalt looks like a cavalier.

To each their own, I liked the delta bodies that GM made be it the cobalt, ion, or g5. I personally owned a Ion for over two years and had no issues with the car.

And please don't make this into a ford vs GM debate I will stop it before it begins

Yeah when I got my ion back in 2006 I wished that I had bought a ss/sc red with no wing and had the red line comp package wheels on it still my favorite set up.

I think the Cobalt is a pretty good lookin car. And the SS is a beast.

Back on topic... A few more questions myself...

Do we have a list kicking around of the approximate power and torque gains from these mods?

What kind of power are people getting out of the wider exhausts? And how much $ are we talking, both for parts and installation?

Thanks guys.
