Three years ago I put the Steeda short-shifter bracket directly on the shift linkage in the engine bay. It shortened up the throws pretty good. 100,000 miles later (I drive alot for work), I noticed I was getting alot of play in the shifter and it started getting harder and harder to get into first, third and fifth. Then I lost those three gears. I ripped the car apart, took off the short-throw bracket and put the link back as normal and now I only have 1st and 2nd?? WTF? No neutral?? I completely do not understand what the issue is or how to get it back to working....here are a few pics. Nothing seems loose or out of whack. It is like a puzzle I can't solve...

First you need to check if the interior shifter & cables are moving the arms on the trans properly.

If they are, you can find your problem here:http://www.focusfanatics.com/forum/...mtx-75-shift-tower-reset-shift-cables-tri-ax-shifter.html?highlight=shift+tower

Worn/broken roll pin in the shift tower might be it.

No 1,3,5 is typical for that, lack of motion to put it all the way into gear.

Can't figure your current 1&2 only, not having the left/right cable working would account for all of that BUT the lack of neutral.
