2.5L swap

I'm always seeing people with NAs wanting to go faster (we all do). I see people saying do the ecoboost mk3 ST swap, or the endless threads of boosting the NA engine. Nothing ever happens.

What I don't get is why nobody has went after a 2.5L duratec Ti VCT swap from a fusion (might be in other vehicles). Afaik, it's a very similar engine, should easily swap in and hopefully work with a retune. Maybe I'm missing something or just don't know enough about this engine but I think if the 2.0 is putting down 160-170 whp, shouldn't a bolted 2.5 be capable of ~200? More if you get into cams, internals??

Thoughts, opinions?

Ahh, that would explain that then. I didn't know. I knew it was a nice swap on earlier foci, however I thought... well, assumed, it had become DI in recent years. Hard to find info when I googled it before. All searches just give HP specs then talk about the ecoboost engine options on the fusion.

Idk, you can find the engine on a couple pages but it doesn't say much beyond its 175hp.

it's a cool idea although I doubt it would work with the Focus ECU. I bet a 2.5 fully bolted would easily go over 200 hp. has a lot more tq then the regular 2.0 too which is good.

The thing with the ST EcoBoost engine is that it does actually drop in. The Chassis is the same up front across the hatch and sedan in the MK3 models. The only issue is the wiring. But mechanically, it should easily work.
