Hey guys I was just wondering a few things.

I was wondering if anyone has tried running a Twin Turbo Setup on any of the 2.3's?

I have 2 Ko3 Turbos
Pipe/Pipe Bender
My friend and dad are both fabricators so anything custom isn't an issue.
AND all the means to make this work

But the big question is..... Is it worth running a setup like this?? and has anyone ever tried anything like this before.
Any and All help is appreciated

Thanks Guys

From the looks of that setup when the first wastegate opens at the spring psi it starts spinning up the second. You can can see the difference in the size of the exhaust housing. That setup is pretty sick!

A single small turbo can easily max out the internals of the Duratec. I would say with the money/time you'd spend making the twin turbo setup work; you could build a 2.3 to handle higher boost then get a single turbo capable of producing higher boost levels. Then never have to worry about anything breaking.

But hey, if your set on doing it, do it! I'd give you mad respect for putting in the time and actually doing it.

That's good to know... that car does look sexy.... anyone know what that rear bumper is by anychance??

Still curious on if this would work or be worth the effort... not looking for CRAZY power, but really decent Mid range power
IDEALLY... 300ish....[^]

Twins may look great but when some guy with a properly sized single comes up and just stomps your ass you'll wonder why you didnt just run a single like everyone else is...........

The setup that F2 ran was not twin turbo. That's sequential turbo when they're different sizes. If they're TWINS, they have to be identical.

Yeah you can do a remote mounted turbo...STS turbo is a big maker of kits like that...I think XIOS did something similar but the turbo wasnt all the way in the back I think it was toward the bottom back side of the motor

Instead of two small turbo's, why not go with one big one running at like 30PSI, and blow away the smaller turbo set-up's?

Good idea, though it just doesn't sound like it would be worth it over one big one instead of two small ones?[dunno]

hahahaaha, do you guys play that if you No Balls someone/ and they dont do it you get to kick um in the nuts??

My big issue w/ the build is tuning, and getting it somewhere where i would be able to have it done right w/out blowing my engine (again). We are designing the set-up this week just to weigh the options......[clap]

You would be doing a twin turbo setup to be cool/different and for something no one has been able to get to run right on the focus.

IF you're really wanting 300ish WHP to have some fun...do a single turbo and be done with it.

I give props if you actually try/succeed. I want to see a build thread or it didn't happen lol

4 cylinder twin turbo focus= unique, fast, great overall powerband

V8 swapped twin turbo focus= BALLSSSSSSSS

aaron thats just plain silly it would be sick but come on now like everyone else is pretty much saying one big would out perform two smaller ones...one simple conclusion would be instead of trying to push 2 small ones to make power your only pushing the one hence faster spooling of the turbo and better power gains also the tuning would prolly never be right remember how long it took to even get your car running...lol...just saying...but if you do it more power to ya and good luck with everything...also about your buddy and shop do you think that he could make custom pipe coming off my header to my 3" cat back my flex is taking a beating from both the header and weight of the entire exhaust...

Well sadly right now it's not looking like it going to happen because one of the turbo's i got, is completely [:)][:)][:)][:)][:)][:)] internally... bent shaft, bent turbine.... idk if i can even fix it. So trying to find another one, and map out the logistics of everything to see if i did it... how it would fit everything in the engine bay w/ out melting everything from the heat....... If i end up doing this, everyone might want to buy stock in header wrap! HAHAAHH
