the price ranges brand new i got mine for 13- with tax came to 15,000. also cold air intake for this car cost about 130-170 and headers cost about 400, same with exhaust.

you just want to buy an engine or the car? It sounds like ur surprised a focus costs 13 grand? the engine itself has been out for a year. Were u expecting a cheaper car? Mine cost me about 11ish

 

im talking about just the engine, getting a zx3 in the nex tmonth and a halfish my g-pa owns a dealership and hes going to the next auction to get me one for about 7kish canadian...and i have 20k to spend on the body kit and tweeks on it, minus the 9kish with tax for the car then that leaves me with 11k to do whatever i want with on the car, thought i might upgrade the engine and get a supercharger then get a body kit with some other money that i have put aside then get it all painted all nice like.

 

I would imagine it would easiest for you to get a 2.3 from NY or VT (little closer), but here in RI and Mass (MA has the 2.3) if you can find a 2003 still on the lot they're going for $7995 (they dont come with CAI, that's another $160 or so)... Prices for a new 2004 will of course be higher.

 

can you people not read and understand he wants to know how much the engine costs? stop telling him how much the car costs, he has one. heres the engine from ford racing, im sure you could get it used but if you have 11k to spend might as well get a new one. http://www.fordracingparts.com/parts/part_details.asp?PartKeyField=7017 this will fit in your car i think some modification has to be done with motor mounts etc, also the bellhousing is different for the transmission(mtx75) so you can use your internals i believe but you have to get a new bellhousing. there is no turbo or supercharger out for this engine in the US yet. but there are many parts available from europe so you could definetly go N/A with lots of power. www.circleperformance.com has alot of good parts. good luck.

Actually...a turbo is expected to be released around early summer about June/July by Marcy Motorsports. With stock internals, they expect to push about 6 to 7lbs of boost and have an expected gain of 100HP. Anyways, just an idea...I am awaiting the kit myself!

 

if u are so willing to spend all that money for a pzev, why don't u buy a v8 or a svt contour engine and call it a day?

 

because a v8 wont fit in it i doubt im adding a nice stereo and the hatch is only so big i might not even be able to fit 2 12'' im told but we'll see and with hte v8 stuff has to go in the hatch...atleast all the pics i see have that
