I have a 2012 Ford Focus titanium with handling package.

I have spoken with most of the tire shops around town and they said I could likely downgrade to 17" in the winter. However I have also had word from one Ford dealer they do 15" on all focus winter packages. However Ford Canada will not confirm this to
me nor have I been able to find proof whether the 15"s work. My husband who is a mechanic Husband hates the thought of going from 18" to 15"

Has anyone done 15" winters on their titanium with handling package? Or can anyone tell me the smallest I can get away with for a good winter?

195/65R15 size tire on a 15" wheel.

if you put your vehicle in Tirerack.com, it suggests that size for winter.

if you search this site, then you will find many who have run that size.

More then likey their 15'' winter tire/wheel combo is for the earlier models. Like Norm mentioned, hitup http://tirerack.com

You will have no problems running 195-65/15 for winter tires. It will clear the calipers without issue.

That 195-65/15 is also going to soak up a lot more pot holes without damaging wheels and suspension components ... unlike 17s

And yet again another ford dealer has come back and said 15s won't work and this was echoed by a tire shop.

Does anyone have 15s on this exact same car?

My husband is worried about speed mitre minus sizing by 3.

The rim size has nothing to do with your speedometer reading.
As long as you run the proper tire size.

Outside diameter of the tires,,,,,,, Pass on the 15's & look for a popular size.

15's will work, ran them for three years. The base model Focus came with 15" standard, explain that to those insisting they won't work.

The appropriate size tire for that wheel is 195/65/15, assuming the wheel width isn't abnormal. Your speedometer will remain unchanged with those tires.

Miller- I am actually running 18 due to the an extra handling package on the car. Does that change your statement
The handling package is only springs and wheels. It didnt change the brake calipers, which is the key factor in determining how small wheel diameter you can fit.

your brakes are the same as all Foci, therefore you can fit 15" wheels, like all Foci (except ST)

I've heard of 15" to 20" rims being put on Focii. I personally run 16" in the winter, gives some breathing room for snow before it builds up to the caliper. 195/55 r16 tires provided by Firestone.

All mk3 stock brakes are the same except for ST. If thats not the answer you're looking for, you must be talking about aftermarket components?
No just the oem size front brakes on a non st? Could be Ford didn't upgrade the 10.9'' from the earlier model.
