lol im not complaining mazda an ford both told me the 2.3L crate engine has 170hp seems pretty high.....anyone got better numbers ?

only issue i have is i gotta wait 5k kms (break in period) to put my mods back in ahhh back to a stock car again DOH!
Huh[confused]170? The 05 ST 2.3L has 151 HP and 154 TQ.

thats awesome man, the only thing sweeter i could think of is if the owner of the dealer was like well we cant get a 2.0L anytime soon but we do have this 4.6DOHC supercharged cobra motor, so lets just drop that in, do a rwd conversion and youll be on your way. And for the inconveinence take this ford gt and my daughter out for awhile.

i dont mean to be negitive but i know for sure the 2.0 duratec tranny is the same as the ztech but i didnt think the 2.3 st motor did i thought it used a differant tranny i could be wrong but you may want to lok at that

i already have the svt suspention .... i wounder if the rear brakes off a zx4 ST would be the same set up to fit the ZX3 .... the svt contour has the same front spindles does it not? y not use a SVT contour caliper set an sloted rotors for it ...should be the same just change the caliper an caliper mount.

oh yea my rental vehicle is a Ranger this time .

From what I've read Zetec will not fit Duratec, but Duratec fits Duratec regardless of motor displacement. The 2.0 Duratec shares no parts that I know of (besides motor mounts) with the Zetec so it would really suprise me if the blocks had different bolt patterns. However, there are compression height differences between 2.0 and 2.3 from what Tom says. The only way to know for sure is ask someone who has had both motors out to look at.

Personally I think it's a bummer because right now there aren't any 6 spds for Duratecs outside the Mazda 6 tranny.

I'll take the Ford GT and the daughter please......LOL

meh i dont realy care for 6 spd's i have one in the truck at work an i have one in my track monster chevette . when i was in at my dealer today they had 2 ford engineer's lookin at my cooked engine i will have some pics to show what happend shortly , the engineers coundlt belive with only 40K kms on it the other 3 cyl, rods, pistons showed viurtually no wear as where #1 was likly cooked from the get go (factory) my new 2.3L that their puttin in is in fact 170 bhp (approx 155-160whp) so that means after my first oil change i figure i should see about 190 whp with all the mods i had on my 2.0 plus a BS delete [neener] [neener] [neener]

you know, I really do hate you :p

j/k

wtf? 170bhp? So your getting a 5spd SVT for the price of a zx3...you can now roll with a stock svt pretty much, you know how much of a dillhole you are(in a good way by all means).

That's just damn well crazy, cool, insane, sweet, and I'm jealous...very much so! What do they put those 2.3's in anyway? Congrats, no simpathy for the loss of the 2.0 at all. Man! You indeed suck!

isnt the tranny itself the same, but will need a different flywheel and clutch to fit?

yes, the clutch and flywheel are different, so is the bellhousing.

I don't know of ANY stock 4cylinder duratec making 170hp, that has to be wrong.
