On PITA or the miata? Terribad is a good word to...

Hopefully it's the miata...or was it PITA installing a new part?

It's PITA.

Turns out I noticed last week that there was a bit of extra racket under the hood. A bolt from the header (the hard to get to one) had backed its way out. I'm guessing enough heat cycling now that it's been really cold, that it finally managed to loosen up. I find it funny it was so long since I put the bolts in, but what can you do.

I got it back in there -- and I thought I was good. Nope -- sounds like an exahust leak from the upper corner (where the bolt was backed out naturally). I'm guessing it was open enough I didn't hear it as much over the turbo and now that it's more closed up the maybe hole in the gasket is screaming at me.

I'll find out hopefully this weekend. It's a bit of work to get the header out/off with the full setup...

Exh. manifold side isn't "make your own" friendly. That works best in cooler places where fiber gasket material is used.

G/L getting 'er fixed up!

Yea. I've got one coming. It'll be here for the tear down Saturday.

I'm just not looking forward to pulling it apart.

I did get my TPS in the mail yesterday too -- so I'll see if I can change mine faster than Jeff. ROFL.

Excuse you...I like to take my time and look at other things when I am working...and it didnt take me that long to do it either...

Its just hard for me to get to, and the screws were TIGHT on there. Good luck, should be easy for ya...[pray]
