Considering that the super cars listed all put down a lot of power etc. it makes sense for them to lean toward a DCT. A good one will shift faster than any driver in a MT any day. In my opinion that means going faster more smoothly.

As for the RS. I sincerely doubt they'll use a DCT in it. If they're already using a 6 speed MT in the ST, I'd be willing to bet they'll probably use a 6 speed in the RS because of the fun factor (among other things) that it brings to the table, which I might add is a major selling point for the ST.

IF they made the RS with a DCT, which I highly doubt they would, I feel like they would lose a lot of clientele. Me being one of those people. The #1 thing I love about the ST is that you can only get it MT. It makes the car that much more unique.
The ST was built on a strict budget (for example no LSD, big brakes, etc.) so of course it won't have a DCT.

There is still a fun factor with a MT but a DCT would offer better performance (quicker shifting with virtually continuous torque).

If it's not AWD then what's the point? Are they discontinuing the ST? What would differinciate the RS from the ST.
Lots of differences, but to simply it "The ST and RS are different animals, as are a dolphin and a shark. Both are highly developed for their roles, but have unique characteristics. The ST is a balance of performance and refinement, but would not fit the attributes set for the RS, and vice versa.
The RS is as subtle as a knuckle sandwich.

Suppose we will just have to wait and see. I'm all in if its 330 plus HP and AWD.

Drive a ST and the (previous gen) RS500 back to back and you would understand.

The differentiation simply is this: One would stomp on the other (a la Mustang V6 vs. Mustang GT).

Even if the new RS is FWD, I'd be willing to bet that a large number of ST owners will be trading in their car.
This. If you have never driven a ST(170/225/252) then a RS, then you really only can take the word from people that have, it is completely different car all around. RS is the benchmark of the Ford performance.

I had the wonderful pleasure of owning and driving a '14 ST for a month, (different story for a different day), and now I own a '14 SE. I can tell you this; the difference in power, handling, and overall experience is night and day. I can only imagine how different it must feel to drive a RS compared to a ST.

And that how I like it, vs the mass people.

Actually, it does indirectly... Says that one of the rumours surrounding it is that it will be awd....

Anyone know where that rumour started?

DOES THAT MENTION AWD? Lol.

"We say "expected" because the official details have yet to arrive, but rumors hint that the new RS will crank out around 330 ponies from a 2.3-liter EcoBoost sourced from the 2015 Mustang. Exciting doesn’t even begin to cover it, but there’s more good news coming from the grapevine, including the fact that all that oomph might be traveling to all four wheels thanks to an AWD system."
