Did you do the valves? If you already did a valve job and you have incorrect bucket "lash" then they were not done right. If a shop did it they screwwd up. A valve job would sit the valve deeper in the valve seat so it would lengthen the stem. This would require grinding of the tip of the stem.
The "valve lash" will be different with the aftermarket cams. There is no reason to worry about it now, IMHO.
You likely just need to move the buckets around. But until you actually measure there is no point in speculating much further. The buckets cost between $20-$30 each. Massive has a exchange program but still at about a $15 each cost with mail in of the usable old bucket.

Yeah I don't know if I'll be able to go. Still trying to sell the 4runner (have an offer for $5k right now, as long as it all goes through) and the Jeep will need some work now.

Track is extremely dry also was there today , so come ready to ride the corners .. HEHE ! [clap] Nice to meet everyone ! I'm new to the lil focus cars but familiar with racing ! welp, loaded my base tune on Saturday. she started up first try after being down for 2+ years. hopefully Tom answers his phone today, we are supposed to start datalogging.

haha. operation merkur was a fail. engine worked fine for like 15 miles before losing all compression. already sold it and the parts car off. happy to have those out of the way. I kept the basketweave wheels at least. bontoft are you still working on that v8 swap?
