I like to call that the "one car forum ball sucking syndrome"
basically anyone who does anything to the car that costs money and wasn't done in their own garage automatically gets cred because they're part of the "community"
in all actuality they're doing shit that's stupid but they never lift there head from the trough of shit cars long enough to notice.

what made you choose those tires specifically?
I'm too unsure of what to pick at this point so will likely wait a couple events to see how things start to shake out before pulling the trigger.

Doing some 12lb curls I see...There are aftermarket intakes that use the stock maf tube? I did not know that. My FSWerks Cool-Flo is older and didn't use any stock parts, 'cept for the MAF sensor itself.
For reference, this is what my Cool-Flo looks like:

also throwing this out there but cars and coffee is the same morning less than an hour from the THR cruise.
a bunch of us are thinking to go in the morning.
if you feel like waking up early or want a place to crash friday night I've got room.

I feel they have the best tread pattern for DD use primarily in the wet.
I think the Z2's will be slightly faster on pavement but I don't think the tread pattern would be good for lateral grip on dirt roads if/when we do TSD Rally's.
RE-11's were arguably the fastest Street tire of 2012. So I'm hoping the small compound change for 2013atleast keeps it on par with the Z2 while being slightly cheaper.
Rivals have a rather low starting tread depth and I'm not confident that they would be able to stand up to DD use. They remind me a bit of Victoracers but I'm probably totally wrong with my speculation. They're new and an unkown so I'm not willing to take the chance just yet.
Kumho XS's are old.
Hankook RS-3's are old.
I have little data to support my decision but atleast you can see my thought process that led me to it.
